You've made it onto the pages of the Daily Mail.

I can't believe she likes that skirt! It looks like it ought to be on a stage bobbing around behind Michael Flately.

I don't think many self flagellating respecting Guardian readers wear Boden. As for it not being Tory. Nothing screams Tory louder than a pair of Boden velvet slouchy trews.

chattermouse · 29/10/2009 21:03

Oh Swedes, i just read your comment re the Henley Knuckle and i honestly nearly wet myself. Just picked myself up off floor. Thank you ever so for such a good giggle xx

chattermouse · 29/10/2009 21:04

Also, although i love boden, i would not vote tory. Ever. Never.

tulpe · 29/10/2009 22:43

anyone who thinks Guardian readers wouldn't wear Boden has clearly never read the Family section on a Saturday. And don't even get me started on the photos that feature in the Observer's "community garden/allotment" feature on a regular basis!!

Glad to see that Leah is continuing to trawl the fertile seas of Mumsnet. I feel sorry for her poor husband and children being roped in for those photos. And yes, what an ad for Boden.

MaggieOicheSamhain · 30/10/2009 12:20

I wish she'd come back and explain how her 8 year old and her four year old are the same height. Was it just me that found that really weird then?

Swedes2Turnips0 · 30/10/2009 13:10

Johnnie Boden, Favourite Political Party: Tory.

Don't Guardian readers want their Henley Ts to be organic, ethical, carbon neutral and washable by hand in water warmed in the sun to 7 degrees?

Penthesileia · 30/10/2009 13:20

Don't we believe Johnnie's eco and ethical claims, then?

Seriously, though, and not wanting too much to sober-up the tone of the thread, but it's one of the things I've decided recently, ie. to try to buy clothes from more ethical sources, and People Tree just doesn't have that much choice, esp. for little ones.

Does anyone know of any good ethical traders? And not just the rainbow-coloured fair-trade stores...

MaggieOicheSamhain · 30/10/2009 13:25

Ali Hewson (Bono's wife) went under. NObody would pay 40£ for a tee-shirt which is apparently how much it costs to produce if nobody is suffereing inthe production of garment.s

Penthesileia · 30/10/2009 13:29

I don't mind paying more and having fewer clothes. Just don't want to be kitted out solely in rainbow jumpers.

Yes, and that's the point, isn't it. Clothes ought to cost more than they do at present, and someone, somewhere is paying for my cheap clothes. And I have recently decided I can't live comfortably with that idea.
