We're starting work on MNTV which is a whole letter better than MTV .

So, we're looking for volunteers who're up for being filmed.
Specifically we're looking for:-
*MNers who want some help with their style (whether it's the search for the perfect jeans school-run dress or a new wardrobe after a baby?)
*MNers who want to help others with their style (and give Nicky Hambleton Jones a rest )

We're also looking for MNers who're willing to give the now famous MN DIY haircut a go on camera - and their family's reaction to them doing it.

Please post here and let us know that you're up for it.

Thanks
Mumsnet DarkTowers

MUMOFDrJekyllandmrhyde · 28/10/2009 20:25

Oh and My husband would show genuine horror at having my hair cut in the mumsnet way so he would be fabulous to film he he

My kids are rather comical too - my eldest son just said to me

mummy youre hair is soooooooo lovely (aw) and youre bottom is soooooooooo big (thanks!)

So we are a talented bunch

MrsBadger · 28/10/2009 20:30

if it wasn't for being hugely and unstylishly pregnant (see me in my over-bump old-man jeans and three year old Primark linen smock!) I would be on this like a shot...

frazzledoldbag · 28/10/2009 20:40

I'd love some help pleeeease! I've just had my third child (now 5 months old) and am losing weight fast. Have lost 13lb in the last 2 wks so by December should be down to about 9 stone and a size 8 (and will have virtually NOTHING to wear). My hair is a mess and I haven't bought any new makeup or changed my makeup routine in YEARS. I would love a new look to boost my confidence after my weight loss. I am self employed and work from home whilst looking after the other kids so have very little time to faff!

(As an aside I have no idea what the mumsnet hair cut thing is so not sure if I'd be up for it!)

I'm 35 by the way, about 5'6 and currently 10 stone 10. (if that helps)

LuluDanceOnMyGrave · 28/10/2009 20:55

I am a total frump who has no idea what looks good, let alone keeping up with any trends. Current style is whatever's in the local charity shop, which is not always a good look on someone tall. Plus my hair is a disaster, despite the MN cut, I can't decide what colour it should be. And my skin is yurgh, my eyebrows have gone wild and I generally need someone to get me to some kind of acceptable baseline because right now I have a mountain to climb and I don't know where to start.

Feelingoptimistic · 28/10/2009 21:19

I really need a makeover to give me a confidence boost !
I have been a lone parent since my DD was only a few months, and my confidence has been at an all time low since then...
I need a change ! And also I would love for someone to go through my things, and tell me what suits me, what I should get rid of, and what I should buy !!

VaginaShmergina · 28/10/2009 21:25

Applied to be on How to Look Good Naked..... made it onto the programe but only in my bra and knickers in the line up.

Have lost my va va voom, identity and spark and would love to look good at the school gates as well as for my wonderful husband whose sex kitten is a grumpy frump.

Have slipped back into the baggy t-shirts and fleece look and never feel special anymore...... grateful for anybody to take a look at me and give me a mighty fine kick up the arse x

spugs · 29/10/2009 07:47

can i come and shout at people till they wear the right size bra

CybilAviationAuthority · 29/10/2009 07:48

All these ladies needing a makeover are making me twitch...letmeaddum!

LOVE makeovers

vacaloca · 29/10/2009 08:56

Oh, oh, oh. [puts hand up earnestly]. I just got a JOB after 5 years at home and I would LOVE help with a few back-to-work basics.

Polgara2 · 29/10/2009 09:07

ooh ooh me me I need a makeover!!!!!!!!!!

Once upon a time BC I used to be trendy and look good - having now emerged from the 'having young children dragged through hedge backwards' look I don't know what to do with myself. Fashion and trends have moved on without me and I aint no groovy young chick anymore. I have started by having my hair cut short but have been debating my next move for faaaaaaaaaaaar too long. AND makeup now what was that again?

KristinaM · 29/10/2009 10:46

I do not wish to volunteer [shy emoticon]

but would like to request that you DONT do an makeover on any size 6, 25 year old gorgeous yummy mummy

its not really much of a challenge is it, and hardly reflects most mumsnetters

Mamazonabroomstick · 29/10/2009 11:03

cybil - honestly i would be far too much for even your considerable talents

CybilAviationAuthority · 29/10/2009 11:05

Aint no Mamma Big Enough
Aint no Mother wide enough
Aint no Sister drab enough

To keep me from Yooouuuuuuu

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 29/10/2009 11:09

wouldlove a makeover. Did let misdee give me a MN haircut but it didnt go well , but could really do with some skirt help, I live it trousers!

carriedababi · 29/10/2009 11:14

oh this is going to be gooooood

purplepeony · 29/10/2009 11:14

I'd like to be a person who helps others without the NHJ glasses and snooty attitude!

NickNemo · 29/10/2009 11:17

Me please, please, pretty please!!

I am only 30, yet DH tells me I dress like I am 90. I can never manage to find things that suit me, plus I now have a persistent pot belly (an inheritance from my family) so buying clothes is becoming tougher than usual.

On the plus side, I am good with knowing about make-up and skin products, so can offer tips on that.

squeaver · 29/10/2009 11:19

I nominate Cyb and Letthemeatcake as Trinny and Susanna

And we all know who should be Gok, don't we?

mimsum · 29/10/2009 11:31

what is the MN diy haircut? [puzzled emoticon]

cornsilk · 29/10/2009 11:33

I want some help with a work wardrobe. I work full time and always look like a hobo.

Tortington · 29/10/2009 11:40

if your going to give me some clothes i'll do it. after weightloss, i only have one pair of trousers that fit me.

i have all my work suits up on e-bay as we speak.
I love fashion and i think i have a strong sense of style, i don't think i am ;clueless' - just not wardrobe fiscal at the moment.

carriedababi · 29/10/2009 12:25

I nominate Cornsilk, as she's great fun and very entertaining.

also jewels and gems is good for style advice.

and it would be very funny to get simon howl, on this although i bet shes too chicken!!!

fabhead · 29/10/2009 13:04

Me!

I regularly cut my own hair woth interesting results - sometimes good to be fair!

Flamebat · 29/10/2009 13:05

do we get free clothes?

I'm 28, a post natal 14 (shrinking much more rapidly than expected), and have no style. I want a style.

No to the MN hair cut though... after the McClusky I am very scared of anything happening to my hair.
