I love the LV Stephen Sprouse leopard scarf. DH tried to buy for Christmas last year but all were sold out . Still, he could try again this year...........

Top Shop did an excellent copy last winter though. Sold out in about 10 minutes flat . I did manage to snaffle one for myself though. Obviously, tis not luxurious LV cashmere etc but it is very similar loose knit and gorgeous pattern. In fact, tis sooo similar that many women have done a double take as I have paraded it in insouciant fashion in London and Geneva. I have it in "natural" rather than a colour. I think I'm channelling Kate Moss. DH thinks I'm channelling Pat Butcher

I am also loving the word "insouciant"....shall be working it feverishly like a hot trend

LetThemEatCake · 06/10/2009 17:18

I love insouciant too ... also 'louche'

oooh yes. Louche. It just rolls around on the tongue. It suggests the use of a damask covered chaise in a paris apartment, whilst dressed in manner of Coco Chanel/Carine Roitfeld and sipping on either darjeeling or champagne.......

Okay. Back to reality. Off to cook mackerel for the DCs supper Shall attempt in insouciant manner.....

Good call on the Hermes LTEC, it's good to have something to look forward to

That scarf looks soft as a cloud doesn't it? I actually have a great puffa, from Mango of all places, this will be it's third winter. It's very flattering as it has nipped in waist, and really it's lovely, I'm just sick of the blackness of it!

I think I might be tempted.....Have signed up for Matches emails, just in case they reduced the maxmara, in which case it would be rude to ignore it!

You are so lucky to have such a dream baby, I am soooo broody at the moment, I am even considering buying a puppy for the dc to distract me from babies

LTEC - reckon I was about mid-30s, started with a silk scarf, some small leather goods, very slowly and over the years. I am a SAHM but I do bits of work from home - website admin mostly on an ad hoc basis, also in temping agency.

I wear a cashmere/silk Gm shawl most days to keep warm - I get really cold playing working on the laptop and it saves putting the heating on. Also, I am a boring and casual dresser, nothing to dress up for most days, housework, garden, allotment, school run, Tesco-type shopping as opposed to proper shopping Wearing a beautiful shawl lifts me up a bit and is a quick fix when nipping out, I can hide grotty garden clothes under a coat/boots and shawl.

I can't link to the LV stole - but it's there on the site, the pic doesn't do it justice - some of my internet mates have it - the photos are on the purse forum.

Are you near an Hermes store? The website is very limited - there's a lot more cashmere bits and bobs instore - there's a new 'Infini' scarf - a closed loop of Scottish cashmere 20 x 180 cm that can be worn many ways - looped up to 3 times around your neck - comes in many colours including pink. It's not a snood! (it's a good price too - for H)

Hermes have a sale in Paris twice a year and the cashmere shawls come up quite often plus lots of silk scarves, sales are up to 70% off. Not like the London Hermes sale which is mostly rtw and a few shoes. I've done a day trip to Paris for the sale a couple of times and done very well. Not for the faint-hearted though.
