CNyle · 28/09/2009 10:49

but it sticks out so...

are you all 8 stone?

OP posts:
Sunshinemambo · 28/09/2009 10:50

Yes - I suit that kind of shape of dress so I'd definitely wear it.

Tiny silver sequins sounds great. What will you wear it with? I think I'd go for something cashmere to tone it down a little.

CNyle · 28/09/2009 10:51

LOl
are oyu liz jones?!

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 28/09/2009 10:51

size ten on a good day, but quite tall... legs are the same length as my dads and he's 6'4...

it doesn't stick out that much, and the bodice is really lovely.

pity i don't have a spare £250 lying around

Ingles2 · 28/09/2009 10:52

That tweed dress is gorgeous! If only I had a waist/was 10 years younger

CNyle · 28/09/2009 10:52

ok hten

PinkTulips · 28/09/2009 11:20

and my wobbley thighs!

Sunshinemambo · 28/09/2009 11:21

Yes I have those too!

PinkTulips · 28/09/2009 11:26

damn... we were trying to convince everyone were were tall and svelte model types, i think we may have blown our cover

stillstanding · 28/09/2009 11:31

I think you are all missing the point. This is Liz Jones ... you can't agree with her even if it is a damn fine dress

CNyle · 28/09/2009 11:47

i know I know
mea culpa

OP posts:
Sunshinemambo · 28/09/2009 12:40

I know she's dreadful but she does know fashion.

Sourdough · 28/09/2009 15:00

On the link the model in pic 20 (tweed Gap shorts) is wearing the boots I am mad for. I have phoned every Gap store I can think of and no-one can tell me when/where I can get them. The most helpful was an assistant at a London suburb store who said 'They should be coming in the next couple of weeks'.
Has anyone seen them anywhere.
Please.
I'm desperate.

p.s I want them in green. I have seen a pic of them in green and they are gorgeous.

Sunshinemambo · 28/09/2009 15:30

Ha have looked at article properly now and see Liz and I agree on the need for cashmere with a sequined skirt.

Love those boots Sourdough. Can't help with finding them though.

Also if you click on the link called Model Outfit: Follow our guide to putting the latest styles together you can see the Primark tea dress I wore at a party on Sat (mine is the red version though). I put it together with similar shoes (although mine are electric blue) and jacket and a lovely belt I bought from Paul & Joe for my wedding (only a month ago). I can honestly say I have never had more compliments about an outfit ever - I was amazed.

Amandoh · 28/09/2009 15:39

I'm reserving judgement on the tweed dress. It looks ok but then most of the top half is hidden under hair. Also, models generally tend to be concave around the tummy department but that dress makes the model look like she ate breakfast. I think it'd be most unforgiving on my size 12 hips.

What do you all think of the YLB for Wallis military coat Liz Jones lists? I can't decide if the detailing on the sleeves is a little too ott alongside all the buttons.

CNyle · 28/09/2009 15:43

we talked abotu the YLB stuff a week or ttwo back
think you need to see it in rl

( say i in a tesco cardigan)

haventsleptforayear · 28/09/2009 15:44

I saw that article earlier and thought of you OP - did you get one in the end?

And more importantly, have you worn it? (or are you saving it for Xmas parties?)

I liked a lot of the tips but am not convinced by the shorts, they look great on my 20 yr-old students though...

CNyle · 28/09/2009 15:45

i got on on sunday morning at 8 am( dont ask)
its now out of stock agian

will NOT buy cashemere to wear with

OP posts:
haventsleptforayear · 28/09/2009 15:46

On the model outfit link that denim gilet reminds me of Flylady for some reason...
