Where? I am going home now

cyteen · 28/09/2009 15:49

I want that tweed dress (but as ever, can't afford it ). You'd think I would have learned to stay out of Style & Beauty by now, all it does is make my wallet itch.

On a completely unrelated note, did anyone else read that story about Kate Moss and Liz Hurley going to a society wedding? I only looked because the happy couple are apparently called Ben Caring and Elle Perfect and I thought the DM must have grown a long-overdue sense of humour, but scroll down to the bottom and you will see the most darkly hilarious indication of how poor Elle's new MIL really feels about her

haventsleptforayear · 28/09/2009 15:49

There's a thread about that somewhere cyteen.

haventsleptforayear · 28/09/2009 15:51

here

BiancaJackson · 28/09/2009 15:53

The grey tweed dress is the only thing on that page I'd be seen dead in...

CNyle · 28/09/2009 15:54

not a silver puffa?

OP posts:
ADifferentMe · 28/09/2009 15:54

There's a nice tweed dress in M & S but I was put off it by the 70 something lady trying it on.

That shape is actually really good for big hips/slim legs Amandoh.

Sparkletastic · 28/09/2009 15:54

OMG I cannot believe the MIL wore what appears to be the same WEDDING dress!! Puts my out-law in the shade.... Kate Moss Gillian Taylforth is finally looking haggard - too many fags and champers and not enough square meals. Liz Hurley looks like a posh slag which is pretty much her signature look - equally inappropriate frock for a wedding.

Thank fuck I'm perfect

cyteen · 28/09/2009 15:59

Thanks haventslept, I enjoyed that

Amandoh · 28/09/2009 16:03

ADifferentMe... I have slim legs and wide hips. Honestly that dress shape does nothing for me.

I don't know what to do about my hips really. I look fine from the side in skirts/dresses but rediculous from the front.

Jersey wrap dresses are my only friend.

SausageRocket · 28/09/2009 16:26

Jersey wrap dress, supposedly suit everyone but not me.

I am not fat, not thin (sz12) not giant but not petite (5'7"), big-ish boobs (32F), small waist proportionally, average hips, average shoulders, slim legs, good ankles. Pretty average all round tbh but they still make me look like a frump.

Ho-hum.

Amandoh · 28/09/2009 16:48

I probably look at bit frumpy in them too SausageRocket but sometimes fancy a change from jeans and trousers. The heavy jersey hangs down from my hips rather than sticking out and making me look like one of those conical Christmas tree fairies 6 year olds make.

mwff · 28/09/2009 17:03

i'm also drooling over that tweed dress - sticky outy skirts suit me really well, spesh shortish ones for extra leg. but the model page with the denim bodywarmer is utterly dire - would anyone seriously choose to wear any of those outfits?

at i-wanna-be-the-bride mil, although mail is wrong kate still beats liz even though she's torn her dress.

noddyholder · 28/09/2009 17:05

If you look like this in sequins go for it otherwise....mutton..4.bp.blogspot.com/_ND920tPjWkA/SQ_WRaAtotI/AAAAAAAAQUs/LHorZjrtc-8/s400/helena+christensen+ace+face. jpg

CNyle · 28/09/2009 17:06

noddyholder · 28/09/2009 17:07

Tweed shorts are v useful and flattering if you have good legs I am 44 and wear them but on;y with boots and twin set Liz Jones is vile I like the grey dress too

opinionatedmother · 28/09/2009 17:14

liz jones was on radio4 sounding suicidal. ..really misery dripping from every word uttered.

I like the tweed dress.

can' find the sequinned skirt.

noddyholder · 28/09/2009 17:15

I looked at this today but might be too busty but its lovely irlwww.esprit.co.uk/?welt=women&downwelt=all%20products&division=dresses&category=smart This is a terrible picture if it though

opinionatedmother · 28/09/2009 17:16

@haven't slept - that model with denim gilet looks fat and it isn't even a person!

Horton · 28/09/2009 19:26

That tweed dress is really lovely. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could afford it.

Themasterandmargaritas · 28/09/2009 19:26

wtf is an 'puffa evening jacket'?

haventsleptforayear · 28/09/2009 20:10

Which dress noddy? There are loads on that page?

noddyholder · 28/09/2009 20:43

The last one on the knitted page reduced although it wasn't in the shop It is VERY nice irl

triffictits · 28/09/2009 22:40
