Sorry but WTF are jeggings???

sherby · 31/08/2009 14:37

jean/leggings

NoahFence · 31/08/2009 14:51

ds2 got a reet poncey outfit
he knew what he wanted in his minds eye( always fatal imo) and was loking despairing - it seems that unless you want sport type styling there is nada

SO he got at zara ( where he went quite nutty with excitement)
a stripey scarf
a pink polo shirt
a balck cardigan( fine knit)
some dark grey pewter converse style pointy pumps

to go with some Next skinyn jeans and a black bomber jacket

we are channeling " the Jam" circa 1979 atm

thansk for remembering Sherboid

I think Whistles are pear-ist - about 98% of their stuff is for apples, humph.

LevitatingCopy · 31/08/2009 15:31

And am I doing something wrong when looking at the Zara website?

It doesn't seem to have any actual clothes to buy on it - just some well-concealed and irritating jumping text menus and a few poncey black and white photos - and intro vids that make your head explode.

Zara.com

Or is their real website somewhere else?

Katisha · 31/08/2009 16:22

No I couldn't actually find any clothes on that website - it was too busy being uber-trendy.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 31/08/2009 17:24

I am so last leason with all my little crop cardis. But I have a curvy bum and I think that the long length cardis aren't as flattering. Do I buy one anyway and look frumpy and stlish at the same time, or do I stick to something that suits me?

NoahFence · 31/08/2009 17:27

y i think you are right - big arses and long line is NOt good

OP posts:
StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 31/08/2009 17:28

Right ho, will stick to my shorter cardis. I will be so out of touch, can't wear skinny jeans either. Sob.

LevitatingCopy · 31/08/2009 17:38

I think you can only get away with long cardis and big bum if they are A-line skirted and quite heavy fabric so they don't cling.

I can't find much A-line stuff at the mo, sadly, but may have been looking in the wrong places I suppose.

LevitatingCopy · 31/08/2009 17:40

I can sympathise - hollow lol at the mental image of my thighs in 'skinny' jeans, or jeggings...

cocolepew · 31/08/2009 17:53

I was looking at jeggings in RI, if you have fat wobbly bits don't they wobble a bit in jeggings? At least jeans hold it all in a bit.

NoahFence · 31/08/2009 17:53

i dont have wobbly legs
the material is stronger than leggings - so you feel less panto principla boy in em

OP posts:
StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 31/08/2009 17:56

What on earth are jeggings?

purplepeony · 31/08/2009 18:46

marl and melange means that the weave of the material has slightly lighter and darker bits in it, so it's not a falt colour.

purplepeony · 31/08/2009 18:46

make that flat colour. Think of it like highlights in your hair.

OliviaMumsnet · 31/08/2009 18:59

but why do I want highlights in me clothes?

Katisha · 31/08/2009 21:02

Maybe to go with the grey flecks in one's hair?? (I know of what I speak...)

noddyholder · 31/08/2009 22:47

Jeggings actually look really good if you are small bummed and slim legged!Look good with fine polo neck and knee boots.Hav been wearing zara cardis forever they are the best shape and the bottle green one is lovely

AnyFucker · 31/08/2009 23:40

I have a grey Zara long-length cardi

'tis fab, has been worn to death this summer

and I have treggings

so there

tee hee

moodlumthehoodlum · 31/08/2009 23:53

wtf are you all talking about?

jeggings treggings

I don't understand this thread anymore than I understood the poly thread FFMM quads etc etc

AnyFucker · 31/08/2009 23:56

lol moodlum

don't you know anything

< strokes treggings lovingly >

< fails to admit I never heard of 'em since last week >

fishie · 01/09/2009 08:11

right so if i wanted jeggings it would be from topshop in size 12.

what does one wear on top? that wallis dress or it is too pyjamas? i cannot do long cardie, am too tweedledee-like.

i have recently bought a very nice mushroom needlecord dress from gap, uber-sack.

Sazisi · 01/09/2009 11:13

I haven't risked actually buying jeggings or treggings, but I have these which are pretty close. I wear them under dresses, tunics, long-line tops, that sort of thing.
If I had a tiny bottom I might feel happy to wear them with shorter tops.
