£25. 50 - are always near the door on a hanger. I got a dark petrol one and a grey one. viscose mix so no bobbling or baggy sit down arse

have on today with jeggings gasp and vest

long line vest would this work as a dress ( it is 70% acrylic, 30% wool) - gentle hand wash, which seems to be true for lots of whistles stuff - who has time for that?

Pielight · 31/08/2009 12:53

yes, I think it might if you have the legs for it. I like it. My worry is that it'll give unforgivingly around the bum and then eventually be rendered useless. It'll look great the first time, especially if you never sit down when wearing it.

brokenspacebar · 31/08/2009 13:01

That is why people wear the long cardigan then? To cover saggy arse problem - though this should be avoided with the amount of acrylic in the vest type thing?

I do remember having wool dresses and suffering from the saggy arse problem though.

GirlsAreLoud · 31/08/2009 13:02

Some of those Whistles clothes are bizarre. I like that cardigan, but it is just a black cardigan.

Have you seen those dresses and jackets with the zips? It's all so Sheena Easton. I don't think I'm ready for this.

Pielight · 31/08/2009 13:28

look

for your eyes only

NoahFence · 31/08/2009 13:29

but a modern girl could wear those

OP posts:
Pielight · 31/08/2009 13:30

If they had to . . . with their hair all spiked up and hennared (sp?)

i didn't think the 80s was all that hot fashion wise the first time around tbh

brokenspacebar · 31/08/2009 13:33

I quite like some of the Whistle's stuff, they can be much more off the wall imho - the long-ish leather jacket looks good - I think it suits women of a certain age, who don't want to look completely boden/white stuff all the time.

Pielight · 31/08/2009 13:34

I am just reading about it - apparently we need to make sure we have a 'contemporary twist' with our hot 80s look. So modern jeans with big hair and a boyfriend blazer (arms rolled up, of course).

Hmm.

I think I might need to explore the 'timeless classics' look instead

Pielight · 31/08/2009 13:35

In fact I may do a thread about it

Heathcliffscathy · 31/08/2009 13:40

And what are jeggings?

NoahFence · 31/08/2009 14:31

ANKel lenght! how odd

OP posts:
sherby · 31/08/2009 14:31

did ds2 get the things he wanted?

janeite · 31/08/2009 14:31

You got leggings? Blimey - am shocked!

I like a lot of stuff in Whistles but sadly it doesn't like me - it all fits really strangely.

I like that black cardigan but have just got a v lovely black cardigan in the French Connection sale. Having not bought anything from FC in around 15 years, I have recently bought four things from there - all sale, all v v nice indeed.

Zara stuff not great quality imho - bought a jumper from there and it went bobbly and shrank a bit.

sherby · 31/08/2009 14:33

lol at those heels when preg, jeggings ok though

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 31/08/2009 14:36

I am desperate for a long line cardigan but they make me look fat(ter) around the middle. I have a good bum according to DH but a I-have-3-babies-in-4-years-tummy.
