I am thinking of getting some Hunter wellies. Any opinions greatly appreciated...

I am bored of always wearing my walking boots when it's raining, and this means my walking boots only go with certain jeans (I.E not skinny)

Was thinking of getting some wellies, and Hunter ones look nice, and would look good with skinny jeans (or with any others tucked in, I mean, it is only walking in the rain, or the country FGS!)

Any opinions? Anyone has some? Or alternatives? I have skinny legs, so have to take that into account too.

Thanks

Oh for gods sake why resurrect this thread to bloody moan!

I'm delighted to be warned about this kind of after sales care.

I had patent faux leather ones that I wore to work as knee boots with a dress for one very rainy autumn where I had to walk in - they just about reached the sartorial standard for that if you didn't look too closely at me. Unfortunately, they cracked after about three months of daily wear - which, to be fair, it does warn you about when he says not to wear them daily as your usual shoes.

I had a pair that split and Hunter said I could not possibly have bought them at Top Shop London. They were unhelpful. I stood my ground and I had actually fought them in the Office concession at Top Shop but they out you through the wringer if they go wrong. My previous pair were about 15 years old - new pair - less than a year! I had to pay to send them to them but they did replace them. I like Aigle. Or Barbour.

Another Chameau vote here - my Hunters wore out after 2 years (nothing visible, but gave me blisters when walking). Got the walking ones from Chameau and can easily do 10k in them.

Aigle, BUT, the 100% natural rubber ones that are made in France. They're the original quality ones.

Right I'm eying up some French ones. But which of the Le Chameau is good? They vary a lot in price, cheapest at £80ish

You want a vibram sole to walk longer distances. And neoprene lined for warmth.

I think these are mine - www.lechameau.com/gb/mens-boots/country/vierzon-vibram-boot.html?c=436

Aigle parcours, v comfy, v grippy
Good price on Amazon. I saved £40.
As for Hunters, terrible quality fashion boot these days. Always split. Shame as old Hunters were great.
