Dress help for dd please

DD1, 14, really wants a dress like this -
but a dress, not a top.

Any ideas where we can get one? The only ones we've seen are Ralph lauren and Tommy Hilfiger (sp?) and ludicrously expensive. She is 5'7 and a size 8.

Thanks in advance.

Don't think you linked to the right item.......

janeite · 21/06/2009 18:07

Stripe polo t-shirt - she wants one that shape but a dress.

Does it have to be stripey?

They quite often have plain ones in sports soccer. Aren't they called tennis dresses?

bishboschone · 21/06/2009 19:27

i have a stripe bodycon dress from topshop if that helps?

missblythe · 21/06/2009 19:28

right shape, but no stripes

janeite · 21/06/2009 19:39

It has to be striped, she says!

But thanks for the help so far.

janeite · 21/06/2009 20:27

Thanks for looking Clure - but she doesn't like those! Shame, as I like the price!

Clure · 21/06/2009 20:58

this goes up to age 14 though maybe too small?

janeite · 21/06/2009 20:58

Thanks Clure - saw that on earlier but they only have it in tiny sizes.

OP posts:
Clure · 21/06/2009 21:13

have you tried places like matalan, primark and asda?

janeite · 21/06/2009 21:18

Sorry - don't 'do' Primark or Asda and never been to Matalan.

Buy 2 tops and weld them together. Gok would be impressed, particularly if you went obtained embellishments from a habadashery.

ThePhantomPlopper · 21/06/2009 21:30

Do you have a Ralph Lauren outlet near you?

DH bought me one from an outlet for Christmas last year .

Anyway they are quite cheap in outlets.

ThePhantomPlopper · 21/06/2009 21:30

Hmm I used the word outlet far too many times in that post.

janeite · 21/06/2009 21:32

No outlets as far as I know! But just about every high street shop you could think of!

OP posts:
Ewe · 21/06/2009 21:33

Would either of the top two here be any good?

janeite · 21/06/2009 21:34

Thanks Ewe - but she wants a collar. And there is no way I'd pay that much for a teen's dress!

cookielove · 21/06/2009 21:40

cute but prob not right

prob to grown up

different

it's stripes

hmmm

janeite · 21/06/2009 21:47

Thanks Cookie - but none of those are right either! I think beth's description of them as tennis dresses is probably right but I have failed to find any except the Boden one that look anything like the right thing at the right price.

OP posts:
cookielove · 21/06/2009 21:57

like this?

cookielove · 21/06/2009 21:57

that link may not work try this if it doesn't

janeite · 21/06/2009 21:59

Just like that! But no good at all as only UK methinks. But I will look in gap and see if they do them. Thanks.
