I agonised over choosing a dress, now I am getting my knickers in a twist over shoes... here are some I am considering, please judge away .

Going to wear with a cream dress with navy spots, I am only 5 foot, so want as much height as possible, prefer a sturdier heel/platform/wedge...
option 1

2

option 3

option 4

and option 5 - poss my favourite so far

I like them all except No1.

Which is helpful.

suwoo · 19/06/2009 22:06

I like them all too and would need to see the dress to decide fully. I am with you though and like number 5 a lot

brokenspacebar · 19/06/2009 22:11

well number 1 is out, because they are not in my size (and thephantom doesn't like them )

I am scared to post a link to the dress in case it is criticised ... they would also be for wearing with blue linen trousers and anything else really that is in my wardrobe.

Has anyone got dune shoes? I have only tried them on in the distant past and think they are quite slim fitting?

5 are lovely, my faves. You could get a lot of use out of them as they will go with much more things than just the red ones will, plus they look quite unusual, the red ones are quite fashion-ey and you see ones like that everywhere (but nice tho, I love red shoes!)

I have Dune shoes, I find them slim fitting and small. I'm a 6 but have to by a 7 in Dune, dunno if that is just me though?

nobodysfool · 19/06/2009 22:14

Def no.5.So cute.

brokenspacebar · 19/06/2009 22:16

Holy, you are probably right, I aM ALSo very partial to a pair of red shoes.... would the white in option 5 mean I have to get a different dress i.e is that tiny wee bit of white going to be wrong with cream (in the dress)...?

OP posts:
brokenspacebar · 19/06/2009 22:18

I might try a 5 (I am usually a five in fly shoes, which I find quite generous...)

OP posts:
HolyGuacamole · 19/06/2009 22:24

I wouldn't say so but I'm not an expert, I'd defo wear them with cream if it were me as it's only a tiny bit of white

brokenspacebar · 19/06/2009 22:27

Now, I just need to justify spending that amount of money, when I have been rather reckless this week with money... but needs must and all that.... and it is for a special occasion and well cost per wear will make them a positive bargain....

OP posts:
VinoEsmeralda · 19/06/2009 22:29

2,4 or 5 (5 will go well with a lot of outfits, dont worry about the tiny bit of white)

brokenspacebar · 19/06/2009 22:33

cheers everyone, when I order them tomorrow (must sleep on it) and they arrive, I will bravely post a picture of the shoes with the dress and see what you all think.

BunnyLebowski · 19/06/2009 22:33

Number 5 definitely

1 and 3 are too clumpy

2 are ok but the pointy toe is a bit passe imo.

I don't like 4 but then I don't like any shoes of that style that are so trendy at the minute.

Your dress sounds very classic - I think pair number 5 would look great!

brokenspacebar · 19/06/2009 22:35

I like your name BL! Have an image of the Dude blowing on your toe nails to dry them.

Off to watch a film with dh...bbl

tigerdriver · 19/06/2009 22:45

4 or 5, the rest are a bit frumpy, although obviously bright. I like 4 best but am in a minority of one here!

modernart · 19/06/2009 22:54

I like 4 best too tiger.

I don't like the faux wood heel on 5.

brokenspacebar · 19/06/2009 23:37

I do really like the carvela (option 4) too, I liked them in the blue as well but they are not available in blue in my size.... I am a bit unsure how leg shortening they may be, on my already short but shapely pins?

OP posts:
cornsilk · 19/06/2009 23:48

Number 5.

pickyvic · 20/06/2009 00:19

id say 5 too from the description of your dress but have to say i may be in a minority but i loved option 1! but id go with 5 for the navy blue in the dress....definately 5!

(fab taste btw!)

pickyvic · 20/06/2009 00:20

forgot to ask....whats the occasion?

brokenspacebar · 20/06/2009 13:57

thank you pickyvic, I am mostly buying them for a wedding, but also (very rare) nights out too, to glam up my rather plain taste in clothes!

I could do with a bag and necklace/bracelet too, that might be another thread?

I like thesewww.shoes.co.uk/Womens/Fly-London/Wedges/YODA_P500030004_Ankle_strap_open_toe_sandal-291700001/Black -Off-White-Red/

I am a big fan of fly shoes!

From your choices I'd def choose 5.

brokenspacebar · 20/06/2009 21:18

I like fly shoes too, in fact my favourite shoes are red fly wedges, just think they are too casual for the wedding, but thanks lipstick.

I am still agonising, I should buy them ( but now I am considering whether to get the red or the navy...?), they might not be right, but buying them is the only way I will know.
