Are you sure Heavens to Betsy?? (genuine question - not being narky - honest)
I'm really interested in this thread because I am contemplating washing a pair of Nicole Farhi linen trews which have a viscose and elastane lining and a "dry clean only" label.
In my Good Housekeeping handbook (yes I am a laundry nerd) it says;
"Viscose (also called Rayon)
Fibre made from the pulp of eucalptus and spruce wood used on its own or in blends. Wash with care at low temperatures. To discourage creasing, use a short spin when washing and do not wring. Iron while damp on steam setting."
Elastane you can machine-wash on delicates at low temps.
I know for a fact that linen is at its strongest when wet.
Should I not do it then? Would machine washing them on delicate totally ruin them?
My reasoning is that the trousers are a bit on the big side and I want them to shrink slightly.
