I need a new pair and always buy the brownish khaki ones but thinking about having some silver ones this year, what are you all having?

OP posts:
Buda · 03/06/2009 18:25

Silver. Have the bronzy ones too from last year but have lived in the silver as they go with everything.

ReginaCovington · 03/06/2009 18:26

am always a 39

then tired on the 38 once had " woen in" the 6s and i think they are too big, the 6s

Fimbo · 03/06/2009 18:28

Finally deciphered Reg's last statement.

Yes you need to go one size down.

ReginaCovington · 03/06/2009 18:29

does evryone KNOW that?
oh poo

BEAUTlFUL · 03/06/2009 18:32

I didn't go one size down! Is that why these look so huge?

ReginaCovington · 03/06/2009 18:32

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 03/06/2009 18:33

really i didnt know that!! - i got size 6 (am a asix normally) arizona ones yesterday and sent them back today as the ridges all felt in the wrong place and they looked huge - i have now ordered fit flops - have i made a terrible mistake??? I had dark brown ones and just found some stone ones that look nice too - dh will go bonkers if more shoes turn up! is that definite?

ReginaCovington · 03/06/2009 18:34

SERIOUSLY
they are for sale
have just bought 38s

silver

curlygal · 03/06/2009 18:43

The most glamourous mum I know swears by fit flops nappyzone so I am tempted to get a pair.

Am still wearing pale pink and liluc birkinstocks (both from 2005 white ones were toxic waste after a hard wearing when I was pregnant.

I am a size 6 or 7 and find the size 39 pretty generous. My feet are v wide though so on a hot day the sides rub too much

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 03/06/2009 18:46

oooo thats me glam lol

fishie · 03/06/2009 18:49

fit flops are really narrow, you should try them regina - the silver ones are nice and i like the platform aspect. i do not have narrow feet so i can't wear them, neither madrids.

i have gizeh in red patent but the purple is also lovely. silver from last year too still going strong.

Drusilla · 03/06/2009 18:50

I have khaki from last year and new silver ones for this year, which I've worn loads already as they go with everything. Got mine for £20 incl p&p on Amazon in April, there are quite a few cheap madrids on there, have a look. Can't be doing with the patent ones though

VanillaPumpkin · 03/06/2009 18:56

I am wearing Purple patent. I also have white patent madrids and black floral floridas and pink floral floridas and light blue gizehs

I have funny rolling heels and need the support they offer.

FWIW I am a 6.5 but wear a 40 in the Birkis. I go for a narrow fit on the madrids. There should be a gap between your foot and the raised footbed at the front and back. I wouldn't say to go down a size.

Mintyy · 03/06/2009 19:10

Mine are a lovely sky blue colour. Also one size down.

newgirl · 03/06/2009 19:17

dark bronze for me also one size down - but it was obvious - the ones my usual size would have fallen off

i like light blue too

ReginaCovington · 03/06/2009 19:21

like these too

ThePhantomPlopper · 03/06/2009 19:22

Mine are purple and they rub.

I'm a size 5 and bought a size 5. Is that why they rub then?

ReginaCovington · 03/06/2009 19:23

oh and yes siree

totalmisfit · 03/06/2009 19:24

ah that explains everything. i've been walking around in pale blue ones a size to big since last year. great. no wonder i look shite

ThePhantomPlopper · 03/06/2009 19:24

The second pair are nicer.

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 03/06/2009 19:32

does anyone have the mayari ones? now im getting in a right cahuffle! here red , bronze, white??? cant decided if that toe loop wpuld hurt my man toes!

coolkat · 03/06/2009 19:47

I have the Pink Patent this year is the 1st year but wish I had got something more neutral. Very comfy though, no blisters. I am normally a 6.5 in next and got a 39.

Reg How worn in is worn in?! And how much?

MamaHobgoblin · 03/06/2009 20:42

Regina, I'm loving those turquoise beady ones! Just what I need.

I've never had Birkies. I have very touchy feet. How long does it take to 'wear in' a pair (or my feet!) and how much does it hurt?

I'd like them in Navy. Does that make me dull?
