This is serious. Cropped trousers. I need RULES.

Or capri pants or 3/4 length trousers. Whatever you want to call them.

I wear these. They are very practical. I think I probably look a bit arty and fey and whimsically kookie in them.

However, it has come to my attention that other than myself, the only women to be seen wearing cropped trousers are overweight and in their 50s, usually with dreadful haircuts and flowery tops.

I also have a dreadful haircut and a penchent for flowery tops.

Please explain the RULES of cropped trousers.

Well. There you go. I have learned much on this thread.

I will steer clear of cropped trews from now on. Except for one pair of linen ones whic are quite slim fitting and flared and somehow look nice.

Gosh I'm bad at style and fashion. I thought cropped trousers would be a no brainer, easy win. But no, they are fraught with difficulties and I look like someone's Mil in them. Humm.

I do sometimes wish I was that little bit worse at stylishness, because then at least I wouldn't know I was a frump. I know I am and I'm buggered if I know what would look better.
