you can have one, do you have £700 spare?

traceybath · 09/05/2009 15:03

They quite often have the roxanne ones in the factory shops (shepton mallett and bicester village) - i'd phone them up and see if they've got them.

Would be much cheaper.

I've got 2 mulberry handbags and love them both.

stitchtime · 09/05/2009 15:05

no i dont SEA not even the 350 or so the factory shop would require....

but i want one. [where is the stomping foot emoticon when i need it]

OP posts:
ChubbyMinge · 09/05/2009 15:05

you don't want the Roxanne - not since Debenhams did a copy of it last year for a tenner

you want something newer and groovier from mulberr

stitchtime · 09/05/2009 15:05

tracey, the 350 for the factory shop bag. plus the tank of petrol, so another fifty. plus the lunch to celebrate, a twenty at least.... 420 pounds i dont have

Lovely bags but bloody heavy!
And all the buckles get irritating ime.
Get a nice battered one off ebay and sell it when you want another

stitchtime · 09/05/2009 15:07

chubbynige, what do i want then? please link so i can drool some more.

i dont like the cheap bags. the design may be the same, but the leather never is

OP posts:
ChubbyMinge · 09/05/2009 15:08

this one is groovier

ChubbyMinge · 09/05/2009 15:09

stitchtime · 09/05/2009 15:28

ohhh me too! I am saving for the first one CMinge linked to but now considering the second link...

I was considering trying to get them to reduce the price ... Creditcrunch and all that. My idea is to say I can purchase the same bag from a variety of outlets (net-a-porter etc) so would they give me an incentive to buy from them...

Do you think I am hoping for this to work in vain?

selby · 10/05/2009 00:02

I love the Mitzy Hobo & Messenger bags. It's new this season so the only place that you'll get a discount off them is at duty free shops. Heathrow is selling them at approx £45 less than the RRP. Can you tell that I was very tempted?

SuzeMcG · 10/05/2009 12:56

I have the Mitzy messenger bag, it's gorgeous and very practical with a baby.

stitchtime · 10/05/2009 13:34

now i want the mitzy. in purple.

This is so funny because I was looking at the Mulberry site this morning.
I have a Mulberry bag that I love, but it was a 40th birthday gift. I would trade it to be under 40 again!
A friend of mine had a Roxanne bag like this and she hated it. She said it was good in theory, but it was fiddly to get in and out of and it was heavy to carry and would not go over her shoulder. She sold it on ebay at a huge loss.
I think so many of these expensive bags are like works of art, but just really impractical!
If you have to have one, my-wardrobe do offer a 10% discounts for mumsnetters!

Well, my-wardrobe has one in stock. They had a 20% off deal a few weeks ago and may still honour it if you email them. £400 is better than £500!

hifi · 10/05/2009 15:51

i have this and its bloody heavy yours has more brass on it so will be even heavier. lovely though.

MrsSeanBean · 10/05/2009 15:55

I got a 'damaged' fuschia patent Mabel bag at the Shepton Mallet factory shop, it was reduced even further (70% off IIRC) due to the 'damage' (minimal).

Get thyself there OP, plenty of bargains, and some less than half price. What are credit cards for? ;)

MrsSeanBean · 10/05/2009 15:57

Mine's like this (but pink)

MrsSeanBean · 10/05/2009 15:58

MrsSeanBean · 10/05/2009 15:59

OK one last try at link here

reducedfatkettlechip · 10/05/2009 16:08

That Shepton Mallett shop is a joy, could have spent a fortune in there. I want a Bayswater in chocolate please.

Book a holiday at Center Parcs in Longleat, then it's just up the road.. Sneaky, moi?

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 10/05/2009 16:26

I loved the Roxanne when it came out but now it just look old and a little but OTT. The slouchy hobo one is gorgeous.
