A whole new wardrobe...what shall I buy?

OK, I have had a windfall and I'm in need of some new clothes, so what shall I buy?

I literally want to chuck out most of what I have (OK, OK, give it to charity, if they'll have it ) and start again from scratch. I have NO decent summer clothes and live in jeans and jumpers in the winter [shame emoticon].

I have an ample bosom (34G), but I'm quite petite - size 10-12 and 5'4". The ample bosom makes summery strappy things a nightmare and I don't do bare armpits or bare legs past about mid-calf (too upsetting for the general public ).

Can you find me nice things? Oh, go on. You know you want to

Shoes included. And a nice summery handbag. And if you post a link to the bloody bat, ML, unless it's in a plum frock, I'll be very cross

I've just ordered these pairs of shoes from M&S for the summer - only keeping one pair mind!

this pair

and this pair

hunkermunker · 01/05/2005 23:57

Like the second pair, but the first pair said "an error has occurred"

Gobbledigook · 01/05/2005 23:58

Bugger, try again..

this pair

these are nice too

But no good for me as I have a bunion on one foot (nice!) so need a strap across the front.

hunkermunker · 01/05/2005 23:58

Ooh, sale on in M&S on Per Una stuff...am perusing...

I think you do need a pair of jeans as well though - bootcut ones and a nice belt. Don't know where to get one but I'm looking for a jewelled one to brighten up a jeans and white or black t-shirt with sandals combo!!

Also after a nice floaty boho type skirt like VB had on in the paper the other day.

hunkermunker · 01/05/2005 23:59

Love both of those, GDG - I always need to try shoes on because my feet are almost a size different - am freak

Well there's free delivery code - PCEQQZX - if you order over £30 so I got a few sizes and will try on at home then send back

Gobbledigook · 02/05/2005 00:03

Happy shopping Hunker - off to bed now!

Speak to you later!

hunkermunker · 02/05/2005 00:03

Thank you GDG - sleep tight

hinkermunker, do you really think that I would hijack your thread with the bat?

hunkermunker · 02/05/2005 00:07

Nah, never - hey, I wanted to ask you about breastfeeding/weaning, but that's a different thread - can't hijack my own style dilemma, can I?! Will start new thread - see if you can spot it on active convos

Get some really fab basics - classic cuts etc and then accessorise with the boho stuff for this summer - next summer will be out so you will be able to accessorise with stuff for then IYKWIM.

I always find linen trousers a summer essential myself.

JoolsToo · 02/05/2005 00:07

how about this?

MarsLady · 02/05/2005 00:11

PMSL @ Joolstoo

Even better than the bat

hunkermunker · 02/05/2005 00:15

CD, yes, was thinking I'd buy some classics, since I keep clothes for far too long, I don't want them to date. Linen...oh, God, I'm going to have to iron things

JT, it's funny, but we're also looking at buying some new bedroom furniture...we currently have orange knotty pine which is HIDEOUS!!!

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 02/05/2005 00:16

I knew that

hunkermunker · 02/05/2005 00:17

JT, are you in my living room?

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 02/05/2005 00:20

no, your bedroom

MarsLady · 02/05/2005 00:21

hinkermunker I think that you would look lovely in the 1950s style that is about at the moment. I also think lovely floaty skirts, linen trousers and chunky jewellery.

hunkermunker · 02/05/2005 00:25

JT [Eek! emoticon] Will you tidy up the laundry and dust round a bit for me then, please?

ML, you're a love - I'm such a frumpy old toad that I have no idea what suits me any more.

I'm having my hair cut this week too... I'm fed up with looking like a bloody scarecrow!

MarsLady · 02/05/2005 00:29

what colour's your hair hinker? There are lots of lovely floaty things out there at the moment. Top Shop is a great place!

hunkermunker · 02/05/2005 00:30

My hair is a kind of dark strawberry blonde.

OP posts:
MarsLady · 02/05/2005 00:33

oh and what's your colouring? Are you pale and pasty? Ruddy cheeked? What?

hunkermunker · 02/05/2005 00:35

I have green eyes and fair skin with a tendency to blush easily
