Nice, very

morningpaper · 04/05/2009 14:00

It's nice

I never feel that White Stuff shows off your figure though

It always make thin women look like fat women trying to hide themselves

imo

Podrick · 04/05/2009 14:00

It doesn't suit the model imo - makes her look top heavy and big shouldered

giantkatestacks · 04/05/2009 14:01

its nice - would depend on your colouring though I reckon...

MP - fat women trying to hide themselves

southeastastra · 04/05/2009 14:02

my nan used to wear one of those to do her housework in

mileniwmffalcon · 04/05/2009 14:03

it's a lovely print, but beware the ridiculously low cleavage all ws dresses have - you always have to wear a vest underneath which may defeat object of lovely floaty summer dress.

despite that tis lovely though, i've been wondering about that one...

EldonAve · 04/05/2009 14:10

even the model has a vest on underneath

Heated · 04/05/2009 14:17

I considered this dress but the model, who is stick-thin, looks quite chunky round the middle; might just be the angle, might be the vest underneath ruched up. It could look better in the flesh & the colours are lovely. Probably quite low cut though.

howtotellmum · 04/05/2009 14:33

I wasn't sure about the print...whether it was too much!

I am a size 8-10 but getting on a bit- a young looking late 40s...mutton as lamb?

morningpaper · 04/05/2009 14:35

I think White Stuff is more mutton dressed as mutton

howtotellmum · 04/05/2009 14:56

tell me more mp

I always think they have pretty prints, but it's never sexy!

I've been admiring that one but blue makes me look washed out - am annoyed it doesn't come in more greenish tones, or pinks/oranges. Otherwise I'd consider getting it.

muffle · 04/05/2009 15:00

I don't wear WS to be sexy though! More practical running-around-with-kids wear methinks.

snowmummy · 04/05/2009 15:32

I don't think it looks very nice on the model so, what chance would the rest of us stand?

muffle · 04/05/2009 15:37

Well some stuff does not actually look nice on skinny models! Her shoulders are broader than her hips, and the cap sleeves emphasize her shoulders which the rest of the dress hangs oddly. I actually think that shape would suit an hourglass or pear-shaped person better than her.

morningpaper · 04/05/2009 17:35

Hmm I know what you mean but I spend £5 at primark for clothes with that purpose

The White Stuff is totally ABSENT of sex appeal.

I have a GORGEOUS chum who always wears this stuff and DH is constantly asking if she is pregnant because it looks like she is hiding something beneath the baggy florals...

JustCallMeGoat · 04/05/2009 17:42

white stuff shops give me a headache - all that overpatterned coral bracleted second youth beach chic.

but i agree it is the large hipped/bosomed woman's friend. and it is a haven for single men who have to shop for themselves

Oh Christ, I practically live in WS. Wondering if I look 5 months gone most of the time now..

morningpaper · 04/05/2009 20:27

Yes you do

buy some belts fgs

MrsMattie · 04/05/2009 20:30

Pretty. Wouldnt suit me, though. Tall and large of nork - methinks NO.

JiminyCricket · 04/05/2009 20:32

Looks nice. I tried on three of their sresses that looked amazing on the rack, but they looked frumpy on and I didn't like the material.

morningpaper · 04/05/2009 20:34

yes I think they are basically very frumpy dresses marketed extremely well

their catalogues are LOVELY

howtotellmum · 04/05/2009 22:14

You have almost all persuaded me not to buy it! I will wait until I can see it in the shops and try it on.

Basically, I don't do "school run" - dcs are at uni etc and it's time for me to look glam!!!!

I do want a running around summer dress, but I am not going to look like a sack of potatoes .
