What's your hair like?

I seem to have had a bit of a choppy bob (think Davina McCall)for ages. My hair is pretty thick, can be wavy or straight depending on how it's dry and is blonde. Thinking of either growing it or going short. Looking for inspiration - what's your hair like and do you love/hate it? How easy is it to 'do'? And what's the best haircut you ever had?

'how it's dried' - when will I learn to preview?

repulsive at the moment - like a messy hedge.

expatinscotland · 28/04/2005 21:00

It's thick and straight. I keep it in a layered bob which is cut every 4 weeks and also have highlights every other month b/c it is so grey the over-the-counter colour kits couldn't keep up.

i LOVE my hair like this. it's flattering for my age and face shape and easy peasy to maintain. i just put a little styling creme in it and blowdry it w/my trusty babliss ion shine blowerdrier.

Libb · 28/04/2005 21:00

currently red, bob shaped with a fringe, only straight when I blow dry it. I get a funny tufty bit on the top when I don't dry it - and as I am slovenly it is often.

emmatom · 28/04/2005 21:00

I've got long hair which I can straighten with irons or leave and have a bit of a kink. Don't mind either.

What I do mind is the blimmin' moist air which will turn either style to frizziness.

Have tried loads of products. John Frieda's frizzease probably best so far, but any suggestions welcome

juicychops · 28/04/2005 21:40

crap!!

juicychops · 28/04/2005 21:41

blonde shoulder length and boring. side fringe when my hair decides to go right and usually straighten it when i go out.

Catbert · 28/04/2005 21:45

I have great hair. No really I do! I am told so often, it must be true! Hey - it's the only thing I can blow my trumpet about, so I'm going to!!!

That, and the fact I had it done last night, so today, it's still long, and VERY red, fringe, shoulder length at the sides, tapering slightly to the longest length at the back.

I think people like it because it's thick and has a slight wave, so I can mess it and straighten it and it looks nice either way!

OK. I'll stop boasting now.

AngelCakeUmm · 28/04/2005 21:50

My hair is long, half way down my back its straight with layers round the front! It is blonde but has few brownish streaks through it but i am off to the hairdressers very very soon to have my roots done and have more brown streaks put in!
I got my hair cut into a choppy bob when i was 8 mths pregs and i loved it i am thinking of doing it again in a couple of months so much easier to handle cant stand all this blow drying and straightners!
My hair is straight but it has a tiny bit of frize so i feel like i have to straighten it to have normal looking hair ahhhh it drives me mad!

lilsmum · 28/04/2005 21:50

long, naturally curly, and highlights through the top only, rest is brown

emmatom · 28/04/2005 21:51

Catbert, please just tell me even your lovely hair goes frizzy when the air is moist!!!!

If not, why not?!!!

Toothache · 28/04/2005 21:51

Definitely my only redeeming feature is my hair! Long, shiney, wavy, and at the moment, burgundy!

emmatom · 28/04/2005 21:55

but does it go flippin frizzy in the damp?!!!!!!

Toothache · 28/04/2005 21:57

Er... nope! I live in Scotland.... if my hair went frizzy when it was damp... It'd be permanently frizzy!!!

puddle · 28/04/2005 22:00

Mine goes frizzy emma. Just so you don't feel alone.....

Used to have shoulder length naturally curly locks. So curly, in fact, that I was constantly asked if it was permed and they never believed I hadn't.

During the last year I had it so short I did a pretty good impression of a lesbian.

I'm now growing it.

AngelCakeUmm · 28/04/2005 22:03

So does mine Emma especially when its damp its awful

emmatom · 28/04/2005 22:03

thank you, thank you puddle! I feel so much better.

LGJ · 28/04/2005 22:03

Blonder than it was 2 hours ago.......my hairdresser has just left

AngelCakeUmm · 28/04/2005 22:03

Queeneagle did you prefer it short or long?

emmatom · 28/04/2005 22:04

and you angelcakeum. I'm going to buy some of that Aussie miracle moist stuff when I'm next in town. Worth a try.

Thomcat · 28/04/2005 22:04

dark brown, straight. bobbed, shorter at back longer at front.

AngelCakeUmm · 28/04/2005 22:05
