I have notoriously bad style sense so was hoping you kind mumsnetters would help me out a bit. I have bought this skirt and was looking at these shoes to go with it. Do you think this would look ok?

Very 'scooby doo', is it a 70's party?

mrsmaidamess · 07/04/2009 19:58

Oh my lord.

ToiletRollCover · 07/04/2009 20:00

Oh dear is it really a bad move?

Well the skirt is so...short ....and the shoes are so......clumpy

What's the occasion?

ToiletRollCover · 07/04/2009 20:04

The skirt is not to bad on. Sort of just above knee. I was just really unsure of which shoes to wear with it.

IS it for everyday or going out?

ToiletRollCover · 07/04/2009 20:10

There's not really any big occasion but every fortnight DP and I go out with some friends for the early evening and I just wanted some clothes that were less frumpy than I wear now.

They will go if you have fab legs.

I could wear it for sucking cock not for public viewing, but I am old with dodgy legs.

Mooseheart · 07/04/2009 20:12

ROFL Twinset

mrsmaidamess · 07/04/2009 20:12

I think you could do a lot better than those shoes. They are faux leather for starters. What top are you wearing with that skirt?

DSM · 07/04/2009 20:15

Yeah, we really need to know about the top plan. And, what colour of tights you intend to go for. Black might be a bit harsh with baby pink, I would maybe suggest grey.

ToiletRollCover · 07/04/2009 20:15

I've got a nice white shirt to go with it.

Toiletroll the more I look at that skirt the worse it gets I'm afraid. It looks like something a 9 year old girl would wear. Why not get a dress, or wear jeans and a nice top?

DSM · 07/04/2009 20:17

I really don't think that skirt and a white shirt is going to look nice. Sorry.

twinsetandpearls · 07/04/2009 20:19

ToiletRollCover is this not more you?

mrsmaidamess · 07/04/2009 20:20

Wear the white tee shirt, nice dark denim jeans and a jacket like this

with chunky navy or red beads and wedges.

AnyFuckerStealsHerKidsEggs · 07/04/2009 20:20

omg, I didn't know Paris Hilton was a MN'er !!

bloody vile, sorry

mrsmaidamess · 07/04/2009 20:21

Oh you said white shirt. I read t shirt. White shirt no good with that blazer

DSM · 07/04/2009 20:22

ROFL twinset

The outfit Maidamess suggested would be really nice. With ballet pumps or heels. But not the heels you linked to.

twinsetandpearls · 07/04/2009 20:23

Lovely shape on that blazer

ToiletRollCover · 07/04/2009 20:23

Oh bugger. I'm glad I checked. I've always worn stuff a bit like this to go out before the DC but I've only just started going out again properly and find myself more aware of how other people percieve me.

mrsmaidamess · 07/04/2009 20:23

I think I might toddle into New Look tomorrow and have a look at that stripey blazer meself.

mrsmaidamess · 07/04/2009 20:24

TOILETROLLCOVER you must check with us before you go out again. Ok?? Now get to New Look.
