I never wash my face

And my skin is perfect.

Never spotty, never flaky, it's lovely. People compliment me all the time,, and ask me how I do it, but what can I say? I can't say "Oh well I never wash it more often than every 3 days and I leave my make up on until it makes it's own way off, and I wipe the rest off with a warm flannel" can I? Why is my skin nice? By rights it should be horrible, greasy and dirty, and it honestly isn't.

I never wash my face either. Wash my hair every four days so it gets wet then.

I am guilty of discovering a bit of a tide mark round my neck.

Grubbymare... I am all for simplicity and being gentle with the skin...especially as I have rosacea. I am guessing that you were blessed with normal to oily skin that is not prone to dryness, blemishes or breakouts in the first place? My aunty - God rest her beautiful soul - had the nicest skin in our family: she used any soap, water, no moisturiser, no makeup... She suffered severe stress and anxiety, smoked heavily, ate all the wrong things, couldn't do much exercise etc. The only thing she didn't do was drugs or drink. She had the most beautiful, clear, glowing skin that always felt like a baby's bottom. Genes play a huge role, I believe. If I tried your approach my face would be peeling off by the end of day one.
Happy for you though...although my dog doesn't wash his face - unless I do it for him - and we call him Stinkbomb Grin

This is a rather old thread but very interesting!

OttiliaVonBCup · 30/11/2014 20:45

Blimey.
I just noticed it's a zombie one.
I can't believe I fell for it.

flippinada · 30/11/2014 22:17

I didn't realise this was a zombie thread either Grin.

Right, off to bed. I'm gonna clean my teeth with a twig.

ExitPursuedByABear · 30/11/2014 23:04

What the Jeff ?

Where was the Zombie warning?

travailtotravel · 30/11/2014 23:29

My skin massively improved when I stopped with a load of product at night. Nature does what it needs to. I do cleanse though (simplwpe wash dried off with flannel) and in the morning only a lighter style SPF moisturiser like Simple or Olay.

HoundoftheBaskervilles · 30/11/2014 23:30

Zombie thread maybe & filipanda is MAY BE taking the piss - BUT, I have never washed my face, ever, I go to sleep with my makeup on, always have, wash my hair once a week, & I look fooking amazing for 40.

Plus I eat tons of lard, animal fats & butter.

And I smoke & drink.

& my point is?

As my daughter would say, 'Dunno'.

I rest my case.

HoundoftheBaskervilles · 30/11/2014 23:35

Me, being 40 & scruffy, I think the low-maintenance approach is the best.

I never wash my face
LeoandBoosmum · 30/11/2014 23:40

Hound, you lucky cow! You look fab!

flippinada · 30/11/2014 23:43

Ah, I was just having a bit of fun. People can do what they like with their faces - wash or don't wash, wear make up or don't, eat what you like.

I just find it annoying when people use it as a way to be superior.

HoundoftheBaskervilles · 01/12/2014 00:11

Me too flip, really, ain't nothing you do in this world amount to a hill of beans.

AKA, it's all a load of bollocks & luck & shite.

Thanks Leo, my point being, I'm lucky if my face gets a scrub of the pillow every night, BUT, I had years as a teen when I had eczema all over me phizzog, and it was horrid, but nothing I did then made any difference either.

Don't be a smug twat essentially, none of us are getting out of here alive, self-satisfaction is unpleasant and you're on a hiding to nothing anyway, nothing lasts, even if was there in the first place.

Housewife2010 · 01/12/2014 06:48

For all of you who don't wash your faces in the morning, I hope you rinse the sleep from your eyes. One of my friends on the school run often has sleep encrusted eyes & it makes me cringe.
