Would I get away with wearing this dress to a wedding?

here's the dress

Bearing in mind, according to the bride-to-be the wedding will be 'in a field', and I'll have 3 dd's in tow.
I like the dress, and look good in navy , already have shoes which I think would match too. It would also go beautifully with DD2 and DD3's dresses..
AND it's cheap

Down-side is, I usually go a bit more dressy for weddings then never wear the dress again because it's too dressy

Yes!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/03/2009 17:22

That is georgeous

Sazisi · 19/03/2009 17:23

Decisive, Cornsilk, I like that in a respondant

Yes lovely, I am sure someone else on here bought that dress as I vaguely remember seeing it before.

Sazisi · 19/03/2009 17:25

That's 4 of us - we can't all be wrong

Oh that is lovely - I was expecting it be one of the usual Monsoon bridemaidy monstrosities but that is really pretty, simple and elegant.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 19/03/2009 17:32

Yes, I don't see why not.

wotulookinat · 19/03/2009 17:39

Yes, it's lovely.

Nontoxic · 19/03/2009 17:43

Another positive vote. My reaction before seeing it was, smarten it up with accessories but it's perfect.

Oooohh we're going to a wedding soon, might have to copy you...it's lovely!

hereidrawtheline · 19/03/2009 17:52

It is gorgeous and if I were any of the sizes it was sold in I would buy it!! Go for it!

cornsilk · 19/03/2009 17:53

I may have to copy you too. Not because I'm going to wedding but because I am a fashion lemming.

Sazisi · 19/03/2009 17:55

I've bought it, can't wait for it to arrive now

Thanks for all the encouragement

AnyFucker · 19/03/2009 17:55

yep, perfect for fieldy-type wedding with ankle-biters running around

very nice

cornsilk · 19/03/2009 17:56

I want it!!! Did you use a code Sazisi?

samsonara · 19/03/2009 17:58

That's nice, what are you wearing on your feet? Hopefully they won't sink into the ground and leave earth marks on your shoes.

LaDiDaDi · 19/03/2009 17:58

Very nice indeed. Go for it!

Sazisi · 19/03/2009 17:59

But, Cornsilk, it is definitely a very wearable dress; who needs a wedding?!!

It will go with sandals in the summer, boots in the winter

I'm really pleased now, because for once I've bought something I can actually wear out for an evening meal or whatever..

I LOVE it. Pleased to hear you've had the good sense to buy it!

neverknowinglyunderdressed · 19/03/2009 18:03

Yes, its v nice. Just make sure you were wedge sandals!

hereidrawtheline · 19/03/2009 18:03

LOL Mooseheart "pleased to hear you've had the good sense! You sound like me taking someone in hand!

Agreed though you did the right thing buying it!

Also want to hear about shoes now!

neverknowinglyunderdressed · 19/03/2009 18:03

doh i mean 'wear'

Sazisi · 19/03/2009 18:08

Hmmm... you make a salient point, samsonara: the shoes I have in mind are pale/unshiney silver sling-backs from Nine West (bought last year for sil's wedding but still perfect). They have a low but pointy, potentially sinky heal
I could keep my red satin espadril wedges in the car just in case tho'..

hereidrawtheline · 19/03/2009 18:10

I think wedges would look very nice with the dress either way!
