I thought I'd canvas (pun completely intended ) opinion on this bag. What do you think? Nice colour for this SS season?

Oooh very nice, love the contrasting handle too. The print is similar to an OK make-up bag that I have, lovely.

Are you going to get it?

MascaraOHara · 27/02/2009 11:28

I am the only person in the world to not 'get' orla keily.. also think it's getting a bit common - as in everybody seems to have soemthing Orla Keily where I am ('cept me lol)

nailpolish · 27/02/2009 11:29

its £120

there are far far FAR nicer bags for £120

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 27/02/2009 11:32

Personally I think £120 for a bag which isn't leather is a little OTT, but my main objection is that it's mustard yellow colour.

I am about to post a link to a bag myself so you can have your revenge there

nailpolish · 27/02/2009 11:33

for example

muffle · 27/02/2009 11:34

It's funny Mascara - there is definitely an Orla Kiely demographic of 30/40-something middle-class mums and in some areas it's just everywhere. I can't help myself being a cliche though, I just love the patterns and colours. Having said that, it's expensive and my make-up bag is the only OK thing I own. I'm saving myself (and my cash) for the perfect OK bag. There is one I love a lot but a friend has it, this one so I've resisted that.

nailpolish · 27/02/2009 11:37

but muffle

that shiny plastic just looks cheap and nasty
like a freebie youd get with a magazine or a shopper you can buy in tesco

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 27/02/2009 11:37

nailpolish that bag has the word impractical writtem all over it!

nailpolish · 27/02/2009 11:38

impractical but GORGEOUS

who wants practical? practical is boring

actually i cant see why it is impractical...please tell me

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 27/02/2009 11:38

actually if you took the luggage tag off that bag would be gorgeous.

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 27/02/2009 11:39

ivory is impractical, every single bash, scratch, scrap, dump on the floor would show. But then you may lead a much more glamrous and scratch free life than me

thedolly · 27/02/2009 11:40

nailpolish - that's a joke, right??

I love the mustard yellow colour. Would love to wear it but can't so I thought, why not just 'tote' it.

Just found out the other day that 'tote' means 'carry' .

OP posts:
nailpolish · 27/02/2009 11:42

whats a joke? i made no joke

and no i dont have a glamorous life. far from it. i have an ivory leather bag and its gets scratched and bumped and sticky hands all over it but i just clean it. its not difficult

just cos my life is dull doesnt mean i have to have a dull bag

muffle · 27/02/2009 11:43

Noooo nailpolish you just have to get into the OK mindset and PVC "oilcloth" starts to look desirable It really isn't the same as a tatty freebie magazine bag (I should know.. have had millions of them)

btw your white butterfly bag is possible the foulest bag I have ever seen! so there

thedolly · 27/02/2009 11:44

muffle - the bag you like is lovely too but more O/W than S/S don't you think?

OP posts:
thedolly · 27/02/2009 11:46

nailpolish - I like the bits of mustard on the butterfly wings

muffle · 27/02/2009 11:48

Indeed dolly, if you were going to have an OK bag for each season yours is much more springlike. I like the sling bag shape though and long strap - need free hands for catching 3yo and holding ice creams.

So I'll have this for spring

nailpolish · 27/02/2009 11:51

waht about red

god help me if i ever have a PVC bag

nailpolish · 27/02/2009 11:53

if you like orla keily you might like lulu guinness

nice but less commmon

i like the dot embroiderly large urchin bag

thedolly · 27/02/2009 11:55

too 'harsh' as DD says (when I drag her 'round the shops oggling bags)

OP posts:
muffle · 27/02/2009 11:55

That's a granny bag nailpolish!

It's just a matter of time y'know - I bet one day the scales will fall from your eyes and you will just have to have and orla kiely bag

nailpolish · 27/02/2009 11:56

i would consider a make up bag

muffle · 27/02/2009 11:56

Now I think Lulu G bags are pretty, but they don't have the practicality. They are bags for tottering into a posh lunch with, but not for everyday.

thedolly · 27/02/2009 12:02

love this one

www.luluguinness.com/1659.php

but it's even more expensive than the OK one!

OP posts:
MascaraOHara · 27/02/2009 12:04

they remind me of those old fashioned lamtinate fabric table clothes that people used to have

whith a chicken shapend pot egg basket proudly in the centre no doubt

Should I admit at this point to not having clicked on any of the links.. I just can't stand OK
