Do blondes suit yellow???

Question for you - do blondes suit the colour yellow??? Have seen a nice pale yellow cardi & cannot decide if its a good colour on me - a natural (slightly chemically enhanced with highlights tho) ash blonde.

Am quite pale but do tan and would wear a white t shirt underneath it.

Whats the style wisdom on this issue????

pointydog · 25/02/2009 18:52

Mercy · 25/02/2009 18:52

I think that lemon looks great on people with light hair and pale skin- and with white etc.
But it must be lemon ish and not daffodil yellow.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 25/02/2009 19:02

I think you need to consider skin tone/colour more than hair colour tbh.

pointydog · 25/02/2009 19:10

I think you need to consdier another colour

WilyWombat · 25/02/2009 19:24

Gut feeling for an ash blonde is no but some yellows are definately warm/orange based and some paler ones slightly more cool/blue based.

Yellows/oranges are colours I on the whole avoid being a chemically enhanced blonde too as they sometimes make me look like ive got jaundice.

WilyWombat · 25/02/2009 19:25

Wasnt much help was I really

beansontoast · 25/02/2009 19:36

my dd looks lovely in very pale powdery yellow...she has very fair skin, pink cheeks and blue eyes aswell.

if thats you? ...go for it

(i know what you mean wombat and i think i agree)

beansontoast · 25/02/2009 19:39

forgot to add (importantly)that dd has blonde hair aswell (she is less than 2yrs but that is irrelevant)

ten10 · 25/02/2009 19:40

Think of Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, she totally suits yellow, and she is blonde.

pointydog · 25/02/2009 19:55

not seen kill bill. Link?

AnyFucker · 25/02/2009 20:01

wellllll, on second thoughts then....

wear yellow if you want to look like a Ninja fighter

or a 2 yo kid

or a banana

don't say I didn't warn you !

sweetheart · 25/02/2009 20:04

I have similar colouring and yellow makes me look very washed out.

OllieWollieWoo · 25/02/2009 20:06

Thanks for interesting replies! Now I think about it, you don't tend to see a lot of women in yellow do you??? Will drag mates on a shopping trip for honest opinions!

Think I must have been inspired by watching that How to Loose a Man....film with Kate Hudson and Matthew Maconerywotshisname when she wored a fab yellow dress to the posh do at the end!

I am fair and look like a complete twat in yellow.

HTH

PillicockSatOnPillicockHill · 25/02/2009 20:12

a nice pale yellow - yes on a blonde but only in the heat of summer with a tan

I have just bought some yellow shoes!

AnyFucker · 25/02/2009 20:20

yellow shoes !!

PillicockSatOnPillicockHill · 25/02/2009 20:24

you haven't seen them

BonsoirAnna · 25/02/2009 20:48

Yes, if it is bright yellow and in small doses. Yellow is very in this season - I have bought yellow cardigans for both me and DD (both blonde with fair skin).

But don't wear it over a white t-shirt - wear it over a dress. Yellow and white can look a bit ice-cream coney.

AnyFucker · 25/02/2009 20:56

link, pillicock, and ye shall be judged

carrielou2007 · 25/02/2009 21:01

No no no no no.

I am a natral pearly/ashey blonde (ok with a hint of strawberry blonde) and I can not wear any type of yellow, bright, pale or lemon. At all. Plus I am 35 so would have to put a bag over my head first.

PillicockSatOnPillicockHill · 25/02/2009 21:10

but no one has worn yellow for a bit have they?

is it coming back in?

samsonara · 25/02/2009 21:10

There's something very sunny and confident about blondes in yellow...go for it if you like it.
Samantha looks great as do the others imo:-

here
another blonde in yellow
here too

samsonara · 25/02/2009 21:13

to be fair the whole spectrum of yellow goes from neon 80s disco to browny mustard so it may be a question of what looks good against your hair and skin tone in natural light.
