Help! I'm drawn like a moth to a flame... by these VAN DAL shoes?????

Do I need help? Or do I just need £65 to race out and buy these adorable shoes?

They look even nicer in the shop window, and are v similar to a pair I wore for years (from trendy shop) and got millions of compliments on.

They are perfect for spring: covered toe, discreet wedge heel, adorable colour and bow detail.

Has anybody else ever bought Van Dal shoes? Do they even sell them to the under 60's? Will I be asked for some form if ID to prove that I eat scones and watch Heartbeat?

Help meeeeeee......

back away from the granny shoes...now

Lizzylou · 18/02/2009 13:49

Have you got one of those clear plastic rain scarves folded up in your handbag in case it rains?
If not, DO NOT purchase those granny shoes.

lisalisa · 18/02/2009 13:51

aw....i like them actually although had never bought from van dal before. Only thing that would worry me is the colour - it is a bit bright and limiting.

twoluvlykids · 18/02/2009 13:52

You can only buy them if you have a matching a-line skirt made from Viyella, or something sweaty and shiny.

Go look at some younger style shoes, now, and put it down to mid-half-term-madness.

hee hee, no ambivalence then ladies

Am going to bloody buy them, and pass them off as 'Fly London'.

I had pink pumps before and they were great with jeans. Also, I have truly fab 70's style sandal wedges from the old lady department of M&S, am constantly asked which trendy shop they came from.

Can I cross the line here.... (summons strength of character to be own woman and ignore all good advice). Thanks for your wise counsel all.

Be proud! Buy them! And embrace the compliments you'll get!

kettlechip · 18/02/2009 15:08

yikes.. not for me, but sounds like you're able to style them up a bit!

TheThoughtPolice · 18/02/2009 15:12

Ermmmmm

I think if worn with long, dark, modern shaped jeans and a simple top they could look ok. £65 is a bit steep for them though.

Flightattendant27 · 18/02/2009 15:14

Oh dear

are you an elderly laydeee?

Flightattendant27 · 18/02/2009 15:15

The colour is Ok but it's the shape...it's designed to fit over bunions, fgs.

2pt4kids · 18/02/2009 15:16

Good god

jumpingbeans · 18/02/2009 15:19

I though they were going to be "throw me againt the wall and fuck me shoes" there more of a "lets sit on the bench and feed the ducks type shoe"

sagacious · 18/02/2009 15:19

I was prepared to be kind, but bloody hell they are hideous !

blinks · 18/02/2009 15:28

i'm all for Dot Cotton chic but these have no redeeming features.

snooks · 18/02/2009 15:39

at least you weren't looking at these

or were you? be honest

Lizzylou · 18/02/2009 15:53

Please don't wear them with BHS Slacks or anything from Damart, will you?
OK, who wants to start the whip round for Morris's tartan shopping trolley?

smellyeli · 18/02/2009 15:56

Um, they're called Barbados II. I think you'll find that they're

Cruise shoes.
Don't do it.

snooks · 18/02/2009 15:57

they look just perfect for strolling leisurely around a garden centre.

brimfull · 18/02/2009 16:01

sorry hideous...even if they were flylondon they would still be hideous.
I have to confess to owning a pair of vandal shoes, the kind that look like boots to wear under trousers.

BoffinMum · 18/02/2009 16:04

I wear quite frumpy shoes tbh, but these are crap even by my standards.

You will probably get touched up by a funny looking man in a raincoat on a park bench in such shoes.

Step away from the website, my girl.

Themasterandmargaritas · 18/02/2009 16:10

Hell I am going to go against the trend. I rather like them Morris, they look so comfy after all 'uncomfortable ladies shoes can ruin the whole day' Perhaps not in fuscia though I would go for the silver ones, quite funky. However I do draw the line at the 'Cayman' model.

SalmonintheLiffey · 18/02/2009 16:13

I like them!

My mum has a pair. Not that pair. Hers are black mock crock but in that style, pump with a mini wedge, I was tempted to pinch them tbh!!!

smellyeli · 18/02/2009 16:14

I wonder if the VanDal website manager thinks that the recession is receding?

shootfromthehip · 18/02/2009 16:17

LOL snooks my Mum actually has them. She does and she is 60! Please don't buy them- pop into primark and buy yourself a similar pair (but more stylish) for a fiver and pocket the £60! Don't do it.
