I think I need help! What to wear for a rare night on the razz?

i am going out soon for a girls' night out, only to a pub but I want to look nice as I have been feeling post-baby frumpy lately. Most of the other women will probably be wearing nice jeans and a funky top but I try not to wear jeans as I have short legs and a long body and I think they accentuate this. I am thinking maybe a dress but don't want to look too over the top!

I am 5ft 4, large of nork with very dark hair and pale skin and I am 35. Can anyone help? Ta muchley.

nice bootcut jeans with heels look good on everyone.
What's your price range?

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 17:39

LOl at jeans and nice top
its a mn and style cliche! what have you already

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 17:40

id wear a longer tunnic dress with leggings and heels in your case.

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 17:41

not sure of budget - think this will makes legs look shorter too so sorry!

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 17:45

this is a lovely shape and will make the most of norks, or wear a cami under if too low. Good for all sorts of venues

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 17:46

these colurs for dark hair and pale skin?

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 17:47

mmm silk

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 17:47

yes i like the black one but god its dull.

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 17:51

Like both of them but if oyur norks are like mine they wont fit in an empire line!

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 17:56

I know, black, yawn, I just figured could be glammed up with necklace and shoes, and the shape is so pleasing..

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 17:57

where is OP - need to know budget and whether she hates suggestions so far!

monkeysmama · 16/02/2009 17:59

The 2nd one Mollyroger posted is lovely and even though it is striking it could go over leggings with boots or with tights and heels. I might even buy it myself - thank you!

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 18:00

Help! I've fallen into Monsoon webite and can't seem to climb out...someone throw me a line, pleae!

rolledhedgehog · 16/02/2009 18:06

I have bootcut jeans but even with heels I don't think they are the most flattering on my oompa loompa legs. I think I look better in a dress or skirt. I have some nice skirts and tops but they are day wear really and the more dressy stuff I have is a bit small since latest baby.

Forgot to say I am 10 on bottom and 14 on stop due to norks. Budget is probably £100.

I think tunic tops are lovely on the hanger but tend to sort of tent out from my bust making me look bigger than I am.

I like the floral dress from Oasis but can't do low backs as will show off nasty breastfeeding bra. Also like the black dress in design but not sure about black as it makes me look a bit dead..although could add something colourfull I suppose.

so we want waisted dress, yes? bare arms? something to flatter the tum and hips? and a good length to show off pins in heels?

cornsilk · 16/02/2009 18:11

Someone linked to this website yesterday and I am coveting this which I 'm dreaming of wearing with some ridiculously high silver Carvella shoes I bought super cheap from Amazon recently.

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 18:12

what sort of shops do you like/feel comfy in?

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 18:12

right , no to tunics.

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 18:12

love the blue, cornsilk, but style is a bit dull for the money IMO.

janeite · 16/02/2009 18:13

Love the silk dress that Molly linked to. You could always wear a black cami under it to hide the bra. Would look nice with cigarette leg black trousers and heels.

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 18:13

i got this recently, its so flattering on the top, get the xl if you are a L

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 18:18

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 18:18

is This any good?

janeite · 16/02/2009 18:20

VincenzotheBanker · 16/02/2009 18:20
