I have bought "this www.johnlewis.com/22100/Product.aspx"
And "this www.johnlewis.com/22080/Product.aspx
She doesn't like the dress but wants to keep the cardigan, but I don't like any of the other clothes in the range from JL.
Has anyone seen anything funky but pretty in Purple please or an outfit (I am rubbish at putting things together).
Thank you

Yoohooo, are we going in the right direction or getting it wrong?

sorrento · 25/01/2009 22:23

Honestly ..... I think I'm going to have a look in the local independant shop see if there's anything in Catimini or No added sugar yet.
The trouble is we're between seasons too aren't we, I might just put the photo session on hold until the new stock comes in.
Thanks to those with useful suggestions, very much appreciated.

Dragon, sorry to hear about chickenpox, better to get them out of the way though, DH had them as an adult and was in hospital for a week.

My niece has a tummy- is mildly dyspraxic - It deffo sticks out like say.. some peoples ears might.
She is a bit fat but sheesh no one says anything, she just dresses accordingly

imo, better to dress more 'casually' for these kinds of photo shoots. When dd had a shoot she wore a Mini Boden pink sweatshirt, beige Gap shorts, and pink cap from a French supermarket. Her best shots (that I eventually bought) were the ones of her jumping, spinning and other 'action' shots. Hope this helps

sorrento · 25/01/2009 22:49

You see I hate the action shots, the nicest one I've ever had from venture was the three girls crawling along in a line where you totally see the outfits in full.
Might have a look in GAp though just in case.
As for the tummy, yes she has one, yes she's a bit chunky, but she has a beautiful face, stunning hair and eyes and will knock the boys for six when she's older.
There's nothing wrong with dressing her to show off her best features and disguise the bits that aren't so good no matter what age, I'm hardly putting her in spanx or on a diet.

but you wont look at her clothes.

sorrento · 25/01/2009 23:22

Well no, you are right.
But I do put a lot of thought into these things and I'd like to be able to choose the best photo not be thinking ooooh that's nice if only that jumper wasn't pink etc and I do do that unfortunately.

Dd has ballet lessons and loves dancing, so she looked happiest and most natural in the action shots. We had another shoot of her in formal wear, and she didn't feel so comfortable then. Different for different kids I suppose.
