ok.....clearly you are tall But what are your other positives/negatives about your shape?

I love the second and third one but would steer clear of 3rd one if you are at all pear shaped as I think the way the frill falls on the skirt will emphasize wider hips.

SugaryBits · 17/01/2009 16:41

First one. Like the one drinkmoretea linked to as well though.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/01/2009 16:42

2nd one but love drinkmoretea's suggetion

mrsmaidamess · 17/01/2009 16:44

First one. Second one is not nice. Third one...ok but a little plain.

How tall ate you Saltire?

mrsmaidamess · 17/01/2009 16:45

not ate you, are you.

SaltireOShanter · 17/01/2009 16:46

I'm back.
In answer to questions.

I am 6ft tall in bare feet.
I ahve a small waist and huge bigger hips and thighs. I also ahve a rather unsightly varicose vein immediately under my left knee at the back, which is why I'm not keen on anything too short.

Agree - need to know then the wedding is, and whether tis traditional church plus reception or different. don't like your number 2, love the other three though, but they are very different.

SaltireOShanter · 17/01/2009 16:52

Its a church wedding, followed by reception at hotel.

While I'm on teh subject, a friend told me that the last English wedding she had been at, all the guest went home/back to hotel after the meal and before the evening thing started and changed into jeans and tops for the reception! I've never seen this done at a wedding in Scotland, she is winding me up surely?

No 1, but remember it might be cold still in March so you'll need to be appropriately prepared!

SammyK · 17/01/2009 16:55

like your first one saltire, but like drinkmoretea's dress best.

tumtumtetum · 17/01/2009 16:58

I have never heard of anyone changing between daytime and evening! Apart from my bridesmaid of course, who changed out of the lovely dress I had bought her into some hideous see-through trousers but that's another story...

blametheparents · 17/01/2009 16:58

First one

drinkmoretea · 17/01/2009 17:02

more than one person liked mine

twinsetandpearls · 17/01/2009 17:05

second one, the third one is nice but not very weddinngy and am not sure if it would suit your shape.

twinsetandpearls · 17/01/2009 17:07

this one is also pretty and very weddingy but maybe too summery for march

twinsetandpearls · 17/01/2009 17:07

pretty colour

mazzystartled · 17/01/2009 17:09

first one
pretty, classic, elegant, timeless, just a little bit sexy
dmt's is nice but only if you are a redhead, will look insipid on blondes, too sundressy on darker hair/skin

cornsilk · 17/01/2009 17:11

Twinset's lilac one.

pointydog · 17/01/2009 17:11

first one

second, something mumsy about it

third, I like it, sexy, just not as weddingy

modernart · 17/01/2009 17:15

I like the red one best. The others are a tad mumsy

AliceTheCamelHasGotTheHump · 17/01/2009 17:19

The first one is beautiful.

The second one is a bit aunty.

The third one... would have to see it on. It's all in the cut, the quality, the fit and your shape with that one.
