Let's just be direct that 's easier...If you had a very very hairy fango in desperate need of help..would you to the beautician ? I'm fed up of shaving, it's gross when it grows back BUT I'm scared of them laughing at me..Would they dare ? What would you do ?

I'd go for a neat and tidy wax job.

PandaG · 06/01/2009 19:32

yes I would, they have seen it all before. don't go for a wax during or just before your period though, it is more painful then.

Summerfruit · 06/01/2009 19:36

Really ?? I mean it's really dark and thick..I know I have got to get started in order to make it better...thanks for tips girls !

also make sure you trim your hair short before you go so it is less painful and if you can find a beautician who does hot waxing.

Summerfruit · 06/01/2009 19:39

There nis hot waxing and cold waxing ? It's so embarrassing, I know nothing ! Thank you

I think beauticians have seen it all before and more. They'll soon sort out your knicker moustache.

Summerfruit · 06/01/2009 19:42

Humm it's more like a beard to be honest !

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 06/01/2009 20:04

Would sugest a quick trim of the length at home before going...

FWIW I'm sure they'll have seen everything before!!!

O and the hot wx is definitely better....

evaangel · 06/01/2009 20:05

I would part it in the middle

PandaG · 06/01/2009 21:11

yes - hot wax better imo - don't go the first hour or two of the day, as the wax isn't as hot to begin with, hotter I think opens the pores and makes it a bit easier. - I may be talking rubbish but a friend and seasoned waxer gave me this advice and I have tried to follow it!

p1umpudding · 06/01/2009 21:48

Just to explain:

warm/ strip wax - this is when wax is applied, a cotton strip is placed on top, rubbed then as the skin is pulled tight, it's ripped off in the other direction.

Hot wax - essential for bikini waxing/ sensitive areas. It's NOT hotter btw. It's a thick gloopy wax that's applied with a spatula in a figure of eight over the area to catch all the hairs in the wax. It's then left for a couple of mins to go hard. It's flicked up at the edges and pulled off in one piece - the wax is shrink wrapped around the hair and removes only hair (not skin). As you have to let the wax go hard, it can take up to 40 mins for a bikini wax.

Your therapist would have seen it all before and she will be looking at removing the hair, not at your fanjo

princessmel · 06/01/2009 21:50

omg I feel faint reading this!

triffictits · 06/01/2009 22:04

i would love to have a bikini line wax.

I've tried shaving and creams and both leave me with horrible rashes that are almost like little spots

The only thing stopping me is the pain....is it really, really painful? Sometimes having my eyebrows waxed hurts me so I may have a low pain threshold!

when you are all talking about this - are you talking about being bald down under or just more manicured?

p1umpudding · 06/01/2009 22:15

triffictits - hot wax doesn't actually hurt. if the skin is pulled tight, then it's fine. Take a paracetamol 30 mins in advance if you're worried and don't go just before you're period is due as you'll be more sensitive. Your brow waxing will be painful as it's on the bone - go for it - get a brazilian

p1umpudding · 06/01/2009 22:16

ByThePowerOfGreyskull - ooh no, I don't go bald! Just the sides/ bit of a tidy up or brazilian which leaves a landing strip at the front, but everything is waxed away.

RiaParkinson · 06/01/2009 22:16

you can do it at home

i bought a hot wax kit and dp did it

it barely hurt

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 06/01/2009 22:20

p1umpudding - sorry more questions... is the underneath bit done as well or just the bit that is visible standing up with no pants on

apologies for terminology am very ignorant of these things

PandaG · 06/01/2009 22:25

ta p1umpudding for clearing that up for me too! I thought that hot wax was what you describe a s a warm/strip wax - is all I have ever had, and the wax is def hotter later on in the day as the wax as warmed further.

I thought a strip wax was the stuff I have usd at home - pre waxed strips that you just rub on and whip off.

might try somewhere for a hot wax in future

BlueSapphire77 · 06/01/2009 22:27

I brought some stuff off ebay

Tis brill..stings if you go for a wee too soon tho

Its called magic or something, basically a beard remover for black men..apparently, but "Everyone in the porn industry uses it"
Believe me, i am not in the porn industry

I just typed in pubic hair remover

p1umpudding · 06/01/2009 22:40

ByThePowerOfGreyskull - when you have a brazilian, everything underneath and round the back is removed.

You have two options: a) you can remove your pants and have the underneath waxed and then get on all fours and have your bottom waxed OR b) you can keep your pants on, move them to the side during waxing and then roll onto your side and bring your knees into your chest, exposing your bottom for waxing.

You could opt for a tidy up, which isn't quite a brazilian - you have the sides done, then the inner thigh going up to the knicker line. Your therapist will do whatever you ask for.

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 06/01/2009 22:46

How long does a wax last?

Blus Sapphire - is that stuff a wax, or a cream that dissolves the hair?

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 06/01/2009 22:46

P1umpudding - I have very little body hair so thankfully I don't have anything really to see anyone about but have always been interested to know what everyone is taling about

thank you so much for your explainations... very pleased reading this that the max I ever need is a pair of scissors for a trim.
