What are you wearing on Christmas day?

Sorry if it's been done before...

I fancy a casual dress. Would love a jumper dress but they look dreadful on me...

Didn't get any inspiration in shops. Know my mum has bought me clothes but is it a bit risky to depend on them for christmas day?

Sigh.

They're going to be at sil's in Cam having got back from Singapore and bil's wedding a few days before. They're bringing sil with them too - wish they weren't coming as there is already talk of "plans" for the day etc and it's going to be a bit stressful partic sil. However Dh and my parents will soon jump on anything unreasonable and I fully intend to go to bed if need be etc, so hopefully will be better than currently anticipated!

Do people wear boots indoors?

The knee boots/dress combo sounds lovely but no one wears shoes in our house so would look a bit odd

I might wear my black sparkly v neck and jeans, and accessorise with my new stripy rainbow toe socks...

Love the cardigan,
I'd wear that a lot.

Twiga · 10/12/2008 22:13

We would have loved to have gone over for it, think Fort Canning is the venue iirc - we'll be getting two new family members in two days - baby on the 18th then a new sil on 19th, really is all go!

andyrobo237 · 10/12/2008 22:23

May not be your thing (ie big print) but what about this tunic style dress from Next - looks good for covering lumps and bumps and would go well with navy tights and chunky winter boots?
here

ja9ladiesdancing · 13/12/2008 20:29

thank you oww. like it but would have to wear something under it as not keen on exposed neck.

was tidying wardrobe last night and came across posh kinitwear i had forgotton i had (black and cream) so will wear that...

Cycling kit - the roads will be desserted.

Used to do loads of cycling, but havn't been on bike since January when ms stopped me doing pretty much anything. DS is now 13 weeks old.

Jewelsandgems · 14/12/2008 13:51

ollie that tunic top from next is gorgeous! And the perfect thing to go with my new super-skinny dark indigo jeans - thanks!

apuppydaviesisforlife · 14/12/2008 14:20

i'm wearing this dress i got on sale from warehouse (it's not on their site any more). it's viscose jersey so hangs like a dream, skimming handily over the belly too. it buttons at the top of the neck which looks more stylish than it does in the pic although it is a bit hello around the cleavage but i wear it with a slip that makes it more demure.

that and 40s style makeup, hair up, red wedge boots if we have to go anywhere.

MincePirateCat · 14/12/2008 14:27

i found a really nice floaty/hippyish top with long sleeves, v neck, and covers my bum, in tesco sale the other day.

Sort of thing that will look good with jeans, and be comfy but a bit dressy (for me anyhow.

It's abit 'older' than i would nrmally go for, but i think i look more grown up then normal in it. Which is nice for a change. I normally wear a parka, boots and sluchy jeans so i can't wait to wear this top.

My2Monkeys · 15/12/2008 18:31

I'm wearing my DvF vintage wrap dress (bought in the sale 3 years ago - best thing I ever bought!) with opaque tights and boots. Nobody normally wears shoes in our house either, but I've issued the rule that "mum is allowed to wear her nice boots"!

samsonara · 15/12/2008 18:38

We are at home this year so it will be something comfortable and snuggly probably black cashmere trousers and a jumper, oh and and a tiara instead of a paper cracker hat crown!

Anna8888 · 15/12/2008 18:45

I recently bought a fab thick black cashmere sweater dress with a really long roll neck and really long cuffs. Said dress comes to just above the knee and has an optional stretchy black belt. I will wear that. I would like some new shoes and a new necklace to go with it.

beansmum · 15/12/2008 18:49

pjs until after breakfast, then new pjs if I get some in my stocking (I usually do), then after I've got dinner started I'll change into this.

porkypoo · 15/12/2008 19:07

Am I alone in not planning what to wear? God i have enough to think about apart from that!!

saramoon · 15/12/2008 19:33

Oh I loved that little grey cardi. Have no idea either what i will be wearing but usually wear my jeans and a cute little top. We always go to my mum's house and it will be v warm so no way could i wear anything woolly.
