I knew what you meant. I'm kicking myself now that I didn't realise it wasn't waterproof. I wish I could change to your delancey one........

Actually. I might see if that's possible.

JacksFirstChristmasMama · 29/11/2008 20:06

If they have not shipped your order I believe you can actually still change it. But Lands End has a wonderful customer service department, they really go out of their way for you. You can always order another coat and send the one you don't like back.

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 29/11/2008 20:14

There's a message in my inbox saying it's been shipped. But it has their number, so I may ring them when it arrives and say I want to exchange it for a more expensive one. I doubt they'll object to strongly to that.

JacksFirstChristmasMama · 29/11/2008 21:55

Erm no---- they will love you
Which one did you pick?

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 29/11/2008 22:29

Sadly, size small in black is gone in the delancey. They only have size large left.

Ah well. I can relax now the decision to exchange it has been taken out of my hands!

I will just have to make sure it doesn't rain............ on the same day that it is really cold anyway.

JacksFirstChristmasMama · 30/11/2008 02:41

Here it is in size small on the Canadian web site
So if you get the down coat and hate it... we can still do the order it to my house and I'll send it on for you thing.

JacksFirstChristmasMama · 30/11/2008 02:51

Man, I do still really love that North Face jacket though... wish I could afford it!!!

MrsGokWan · 30/11/2008 07:55

Could you get a waterproofing spray or something? I know you can get it for shoes, so maybe you can get it for coats.

Benjy · 30/11/2008 11:25

When I decided on it, size small in black was sold out too. I checked it daily and about a week later it came back into stock so if you do really want it it is worth keeping an eye on the website.

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 30/11/2008 12:41

Was there a sale on then Benjy can you remember?!

Thanks Jack'smama!

Benjy · 30/11/2008 13:55

I meant the Lands End Delancey coat. There was no sale on when I bought it but I think it's a style that will last and will hopefully keep me warm and dry until my pram pushing days are over. So, I consider the £120 to be an investment and not so expensive when the cost is spread over the next three to four years. I won't be buying another so justified imo.

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 30/11/2008 15:06

that's the one I meant too!

There will probably be a worldwide shortage of warm coats in black now, as it is so unbelievably freezing right now, everybody is online ordering a coat I think!

Benjy · 30/11/2008 17:50

Yes, it's been so cold the last week or so. I thought I had lost out too but was looking at the website again a few days later for an alternative and noticed it had come back into stock. It has been despatched so should be with me in a couple of days so I'll report back then and let you know if it's as good as it looks. Will also keep an eye on the website for you just in case they get more in. It is infuriating the way shops, etc. manage their stock. It seems just as the cold weather hits that they are running down their stock in preparation for the spring collections Hopefully they will have another supply soon.

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 30/11/2008 17:55

Yes so true! The t-shirts will be in soon.

Yes let me know.. It'll help me decide whether to just stick with what I've ordered, or whether it's actually worth parting with a warm coat in this freezing weather to get a better warm coat!

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 01/12/2008 11:10

Well. I'm impressed with Lands End delivery. It arrived this morning. ONly ordered it Thursday evening.

I won't send it back. It's just the right length for me, knee length (i ordered petite but I was worried it would be below the knee and look horrible) and it's not as bulky as I was afraid it might be. It's quite lovely actually, and really warm. Not waterproof, but oh well... can't bear to part with it now it's here.

Benjy · 01/12/2008 17:57

Glad you're happy with your choice - it does look really, really warm. Mine has just arrived and I am also happy! It is more fitted than I thought it would be and nice and warm; can't wait to wear it tomorrow. Just have to find some warm boots to go with it!

jollyholly · 26/12/2008 22:41

Do you reckon, if you took the fur off this, it would look like that North Face one?
