IF you could only ever shop in the *one* shop again, which would it be?

I know it's boring but I think I would say Oasis. They're not the cheapest so I'd have to buy fewer things, cos I usually buy lots of crap in prima. {blush]

Even though I like loads of other shops too. H&M and Principles and Wallis and Warehouse and Primark.

John Lewis (or is that cheating?)

HeadFairy · 10/11/2008 20:21

Selfridges Harvey Nicks

Prob John Lewis though.

BlueCowWonders · 10/11/2008 20:21

John lewis, then a decent coffee afterwards and all the accessories a heart could desire!

nickytwotimes · 10/11/2008 20:21

Now, now, department stores are just cheating!

spicemonster · 10/11/2008 20:22

John Lewis. That's a really middle-aged middle-class answer.

asda

dont know anything about the shops you have listed

puppydavies · 10/11/2008 20:23

prolly h&m cos they have good basics and fashion stuff and classic knitwear/workwear etc. and while i have absolutely no intention of needing it again their maternity stuff rocks too. it's all inexpensive and mostly pretty impressive quality considering.

FimboGotAxed · 10/11/2008 20:23

Fat Face for casual

Hobbs for smart

HaventSleptForAYear · 10/11/2008 20:23

I think Oasis is a good choice - although last time I was back in England everything just looked wierd to me in there.

I loved White Stuff and it's quite "right" for me at the moment but I couldn't shop there forever!

Heathcliffscathy · 10/11/2008 20:24

h&m.

if i was fuck off rich then selfridges or harvey nicks obv.

2cats2many · 10/11/2008 20:24

Definately John Lewis.

Liffey · 10/11/2008 20:25

lol at the middle-aged answer. Just wondering why I didn't think of that. I need to start shopping in department stores. I'll have a coffee while i think about what I need, and then I'll finish with another coffee and a think about what I bought.

Kew, if it was forever.

Carmenere · 10/11/2008 20:26

Without any hesitation Selfridges. Fantastic clothes, fantastic food, fantastic wine, great furniture and kitchen stuff, good book dept and bars and restaurants too.

princesspeahead · 10/11/2008 20:29

I don't think I could cope with dressing only from one high street shop. But if I had to, it would be Gap, without question.

I thought about this the other day - but in terms of "if I had to wear one label forever what would it be" and I think I decided on Donna Karan (would live in DKNY mainly, obv, and only break out the main label for party wear or special occasions ). But that leaves me with a bit of a jeans problem. So maybe I'd go all Lady Helen and stick with Armani - but I think overall it is a bit dull and classic......

Oh, such a problem.

I'm assuming we have a fantasy budget to go with this fiction.

princesspeahead · 10/11/2008 20:29

If I had to buy clothes in John Lewis I would shoot myself.

It is all fleeces and dodgy prints and Alexon separates, isn't it?

PURLEASE

princesspeahead · 10/11/2008 20:32

eurgh, I rest my case!

Pannacotta · 10/11/2008 20:34

H&M, no way for JOhn Lewis, local branch full of doddery old dears....

Liffey · 10/11/2008 20:36

I like this, and I could get a coffee overlooking the river afterwards

EachPeachPearMum · 10/11/2008 20:38

They have Coast, Oasis, Jesire, Fenn Wright Manson, phase 8 etc in ours... so not all country casuals, no

HeadFairy · 10/11/2008 20:41

Depends on your John Lewis branch, we have Peter Jones a 20 min bus ride away, so deffo not frumpy. However, to stick to the original question, possibly Jigsaw/Kew but would struggle for the slouchy stuff. Actually that might not be a bad thing, would certainly have to smarten up a bit!
