I want to buy one of these - you know like the ones made by Diane von Furstenberg or whatever her name is, but hopefully a bit cheaper!!!!! Has anyone bought one recently?

Ooh yes I love them too. All of the high street are doing them now. I even saw a lovely print one in ASDA recently.

I bought a black one from asos.com - very cheap!

What just the plain ones?

I have one, got it from Topshop. I wear it quite alot.

I love these. I saw some in topshop fairly recently and a couple in Debenhams, all for under £30.

Jersey fabric is always a winner. You want a fabric that drapes nicely without clinging, unless you've got a fabulous figure that you're 100% confident with. Nothing too shiny looking as they just look cheap and are sweaty. Ick.

The majority don't have £90+ to spend on a day-to-day non-occasion wear dress.

tbh they've been around since last autumn so I wouldn't expect the style to last much past summer. Althought they do look fab with almost any kind of shoe so potentially could see you all year round.

Still I don't think it's worth buying loads that are expensive. You don't get much variation on style so they all end up looking quite same-y, just different pattern/colour/sleeve length

Wow, thanks for this. Must get out to the shops more. Might do a quick trawl at High St Ken between jobs at lunchtime. I think they would be perfect for a work outfit, that I could glam up if I was lucky enough to be going out in the evening!

I got a blue one in the Boden sale but wore it out the other night for dh b/day and looked three months gone. oasis have some nice ones.

If you find you look like you have a tummy in them go for one that is fairly low cut - hoist your boobs up with a push up and invest in a really wide belt (got a lovely crocheted one from Mango at the w/e) anyway wear the belt at an angle sitting on one hip. whack on a pair of high heels and thrust your shoulders back.

Oh and use tit tape to avoid any embarrassment

A belt with a wrap dress? No - Never!

Think you'd have to be careful re. colours but I think they look ok and certainly are good at disguising tummies.

Likeiwse the hide strech marks if you want to wear low cut jeans

Hmmmm...... I can see it maybe with a patterned casual style dress, but mine's black and it wouldn't work.

Mind you - I know I need to acessorise more.

Just bought one !!!! A lovely chocolate brown knee length 3/4 sleeve number from Debenhams, will be wearing it to the Worcester mumsnet meet on Fri pm
