Hello I have brought this dress for a wedding in 2 weeks time. Think I like it - it hugs my (size 12) curves.

So suitable??? With black (highish) heals?
Black wrap?? Jewellery??

Thank you ladies..

course, that should be heels...

Brought it mostly because DC were causing such a fuss, and the ladies in the shop were being very lovely and patient with them.

Not the best reason to purchase I agree

are you slight of nork?

plus3 · 22/10/2008 21:58

ummm no 34dd

Hmmm.....see what KristinaM might be getting at here. If not slight of nork (which from my little 30C perspective I would say, "not") then the neckline is too high. Get something with more of a v/plunge neckline to make the most of your "bangers" (god bless Gok, hey!!). Otherwise your bust will look like it goes from your chin to your waist! Cruel but meant in the kindest way,hon

Takenly kindly any other suggestions??

slicked hair to add to the patter and high neckline

Pannacotta · 25/10/2008 21:30

Gorgeous dress, though have to admit the outfit which comes up on your link looks like it might be better suited to your figure(on the right side of page, the patterned skirt with red cami/shrug).

Am similar size to you(10/12 with 34C/D bust) and would prob find the dress too high in the neck).

plus3 · 02/11/2008 20:29

Now an worried..DH likes it, and very honest friend said it didn't make the norks look huge BUt am sooo aware that it is the wrong neckline....if I,m going to change it has to be by wednesday!!!

this?

Very similar but flattering for a cleavage. I wore this to DS naming day.

plus3 · 02/11/2008 21:00

Beautiful...was rather hoping not to spend >£150 on dress, as still need to buy shoes.

PS I am a 34E and it was a perfect fit. I couldn't wear the phase 8 dress, neckline too high I would end up looking matronly (even in a gorgeous dress)

CuppaTeaJanice · 02/11/2008 21:03

Are you good at sewing? You could cut a vertical slit from the neck down to create a lower, v-shaped neckline.

It would look good with a wide black belt, too.

plus3 · 02/11/2008 21:09

It's a no from you lovely ladies isn't it Only cos it means I have to go shopping again...with pressure to find something...

OP posts:
ratherbesleeping · 02/11/2008 21:11

But if you, DH and trusted friend like it.......

plus3 · 02/11/2008 21:12

But I'm not sure, based on neckline. Oh and I'm massively indecessive!!!

OP posts:
ratherbesleeping · 02/11/2008 21:13

Do you like this

It would be a simple matter to exchange for something else from Phase8. Less dramatic colour but great neckline

plus3 · 02/11/2008 21:15

I do !! Maybe I should go back to phase 8 rather than a different set of shops

OP posts:
ratherbesleeping · 02/11/2008 21:16

It's a good plan - a simple exchange no mess no fuss!

ratherbesleeping · 02/11/2008 21:18

Or this

Too dressy perhaps? Dear Lord I'm becoming obsessed now

plus3 · 02/11/2008 22:03

rbs you are lovely thankyou!!! Maybe a tad too dressy.Wanted something to stand out and look lovely as with work friends who are without babies (yet!) but also something that I would be able to wear out again for different occassions...am I being too demanding?

OP posts:
Spaceman · 02/11/2008 22:08

Be careful how you accessorise with that black and red beauty. Might end up looking a bit trashy. Personally I'm not keen on either black or red at weddings.

Tillyscoutsmum · 02/11/2008 22:10

I like the second phase 8 dress (the grey one). Not keen on the colours on the first and agree about the neckline... Sorry

I reckon you could wear the second one again as well

plus3 · 02/11/2008 22:13

Definately do not want to look trashy

Please let us know what you decide

plus3 · 04/11/2008 21:12

Disasterous....have come to the conclusion that I am unable to wear anything and have it suit me....

Found another dress that should obey all rules, but still am unsure...also still have no shoes and the wedding is on Saturday, with only tomorrow available to shop....I am a walking fashion nightmare
