Hello I have brought this dress for a wedding in 2 weeks time. Think I like it - it hugs my (size 12) curves.

So suitable??? With black (highish) heals?
Black wrap?? Jewellery??

Thank you ladies..

Was the grey phase 8 one no good ?

I like the Coast one - should be easy enough to get silver shoes ?? Silver necklace and bag (or navy) and no need for wrap because its long sleeves

I tried this on today for a wedding. I'm similar size to you (albeit 12-14 rather than 10-12) and it was very flattering. Stunning colour as well

Oh no plus3, I bet you wish you'd never asked

What happened in Phse8? Did you try the grey?

plus3 · 04/11/2008 22:11

The grey looked terrible...I had such high hopes, but just awful, nondescript..

Tillyscoutsmum - really I'm a 12-14! The monsoon dress is lovely. Something strange just seems to occur with whatever I try on

Have you got a Debenhams or House of Fraser nearby ? Would really recommend a personal shopper. They're free and ime, not pushy. You get to sit down with a cup of coffee, whilst they shoot round the store bringing you loads of suitable dresses. They'll then match shoes/accessories etc., if you find one you like. It really does take the stress out of it

Whereabouts are you Plus3?

Ah - hope he likes it. It looks lovely to me - just difficult to know what the length is like from the picture...

Let us know how you get on ...

i bought a lovely, lovely phase 8 dress 4 weeks ago for a reunion - it might still be around in the shop if you are going back with yours? it was green with black flowery netting over it with a lower neckline, they had fabulous vintage green shoes to go with it. dress was reduced to 80 quid from double that so might not be available any more but worth a quick look if you're going back. good luck!

Right - the coast dress has won - I love it despite many problems!
The neck line is indecently low, so must wear a vest underneath...brought the same colour as the print, but it has made the dress look very ordinary, so instead am trying a black vest - is that an absolute no??? The navy is very dark, and I don't think it is that noticable

Then shoes....brought a blue version of the ones on the same page, but they are very definatlely the wrong blue, so again can I get away with black? or am I being unbearably unchic??

And a big thank you to all of you who have been very patient!!!

What about a silvery grey vest (maybe with lace trip so not too frumpy) plus silver / metallic grey shoes and bag? Would be more chic than black and navy.
