Takes off cap - cap??? Oh no I meant cape - see like a superhero!!! Cap is not funny at all... stamps foot at mucking up joke!

Smiles at typing "stamps foot" - I think I might be a real mner now - not just a newbie!!!

I wore a hat for the first time at a friends wedding recently

I rocked it!!, people were whispering "Who is that lady with Mr Purpleduck"...these people had known me for years

result!!!

And the hat cost the same as getting an up-do done would have.

I would go for something quite bright for the shoes and bag - red patent?

teafortwo · 08/10/2008 23:03

Thanks purpleduck.

Just in theory... I am currently not keen on a hat but open to ideas... I did choose to don a hat - what kind of thing would go?

This is saying to me;

keep choppy bob

wear wide brimmed aurey hepburnesque hat

paint your lips red

smoke fake fag on end of cruella de ville thing

watch people faint at your feet.

teafortwo · 09/10/2008 09:00

Brilliant indea notthebubblyseaweed!!!

Can I get fake fag from Accessorize???

Dalmation coat or no dalmation coat???

Seriously.... what does a Audrey Hepburnesque hat look like???

Send links! Peeerrrrllleeeeaaase!!!!

this would be nice

teafortwo · 10/10/2008 11:13

Thanks purpleduck - I am really sorry I feel very embarrassed about not checking in on this thread earlier!!!! There is nothing worse than being ignored!!! It is horrible I am sorry.

So... I like it...!!!

I think if I decide to go all hatty I will look in the spring because I have noticed nearly all the hats I can find right now are for keeping warm!!! - Makes sense I suppose!!!

TSM has offered to lend me quite simply stunning hat too.... it has wow factor!!!

But also - If I have a nice haircut at the time I might want to show it off a bit .... so I am still biased towards no hat too - because I have a lovely hairdresser who I know will set me up with a good barnet!!!!

Thanks to everyone for all your ideas you have given me great confidence in my outfit - I am going to definately buy the dress and wait until Spring for the shoes and bag!!!

Would your hair go funny in the hat?
you could wear it at the ceremony for effect, then take t off for the rest of the day if your hairstyle will hold up...?

BTW,its ok totake your time answering, its good to mull

teafortwo · 11/10/2008 15:24

thanks purpleduck! Goes away and mulls!!!

I agree with the berry-coloured shoes or bright red idea. I also thought of a dark cerise pink, which you could match lipstick with if your complexion is 'cool'. Re make-up: the 'new' black eyeliner would look fab - I've really missed it these last few years. I mean, of course, a classy line with a slight 'flick' using liquid liner, rather than the more natural-looking pencil. Plus natural beige eyeshadow and said lipstick (false eyelashes optional).
Beautiful dress, btw.

thanks katch - what nice ideas you have!

Thanks so much to everyone on this thread - While in the UK I bought the L K Bennett dress and wonderfully it was in the sale so I also got a silk shawl to go with it. I really love it and it cost less for the two than I was expecting to pay for the dress - bargin!!!

I will see if I can find a link to show you all.
