I want a pair of uggs - I'm about a size 5 should I get a 5 or smaller?

I have a nasty cheap pair but they are the most godawful things to walk in and are too big. I have wide fit so shoes don't always fit in a 5 but 6s are always too big. What size should I get?

I think they're awful tbh. Every time I see someone in Uggs their feed are always sloping off the sole and they're walking on swede with the boots distorting.

Really dreadful design.

Spidermama · 04/10/2008 14:17

HTH.

Columbo · 04/10/2008 14:18

I would suggest a 5 if you have broad feet. They will feel snug, possibly almost to the point of being too snug, but the wool relaxes and very quickly molds itself to the shape of your foot. They get kind of baggier as they get older but they remain very comfy. My oldest pait seem really loose now compared to when I got them, but they are still extremely comfortable.

Columbo · 04/10/2008 14:19

My feet don't slope off the sole at all. And they are really comfy. So there. But then again I don't care what things look like, and mainly wear mine around the house (stone floors you see).

lunavix · 04/10/2008 14:26

I am cold, and my feet are cold spidermama

so i believe it's only the cheap ones your feet slope around in

True dat lunavix

Spidermama · 06/10/2008 09:48

My mum bought proper Uggs for my kids and their heels were sloping off so there. Der. Der de der.

thritbies · 06/10/2008 11:56

Had to get a UK 4 myself, my usual 5 was too big

Frankensteinshughjarsssss · 06/10/2008 12:01

Where is the cheapest place to get proper Uggs?

WhereWolfTheWildThingsWere · 06/10/2008 12:02

Before you buy American ones, (which uggs are).Just briefly consider buying British. They are gorgeous and cheaper and I find they fit true to size. As columbo said they will start snug but stretch.

And Celtic sheepskin will re-sole or re-pannel so they won't ever wear out.

DrNortherner · 06/10/2008 12:03

I thought UGGS were Austrlaian?

WhereWolfTheWildThingsWere · 06/10/2008 12:08

Ah-ha a common misconception!

A US company registered the name 'Ugg Australia', much to many Australian Ugg producers extreme annoyance.

Jumbo Uggs are Australian and the original concept is too.

But the 'Ugg Australia' that you see on everyones feet are from the U.S of A. Though not made there obviously.

DrNortherner · 06/10/2008 12:10

Oh I see. You have educated me.

WhereWolfTheWildThingsWere · 06/10/2008 12:12

See?

I am sad in my Ugg knowledge. (I have rellies there)

Frankensteinshughjarsssss · 06/10/2008 12:14

I have never considered Uggs before, but saw a couple of ladies wearing them and thought I'd give them a go .. until I saw the prices, I am !!!

But are Celts water-resistant? I have had a pair of Emu Ridge boots for 10 yrs which are great, then i bought a pair from ebay (yy i know) and they were rubbish, the sole wore down really quickly and my feet got wet in the rain
Think its the difference between proper sheepskin and suede with a wool lining isnt it?

cocoleBOO · 06/10/2008 12:59

River Island has Uggalikes for around £30, they soles are much better.

WhereWolfTheWildThingsWere · 06/10/2008 13:00

Celtic sheepskin are proper sheepskin, but all sheepskin needs spraying to make it waterproof, doesn't it?

weepootle · 06/10/2008 13:10

hughjarsss, I got mine from www.asos.com, they're £170 which is standard but I used a 20% off code which took £34 off. It's far safer to do that than pay over £100 off ebay when you're not 100% certain that they're real.

Columbo · 06/10/2008 13:10

Celtic Sheepskin do really good kids boots too in loads of great colours

weepootle · 06/10/2008 13:11

oh, and lunavix- I'd get the size 5 if I were you.

WhereWolfTheWildThingsWere · 06/10/2008 13:11

Have just posted that on another thread!

They are lurvely, and I want a sheepshin hat.

kt14 · 06/10/2008 13:25

just got these.. so excited..
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200258886427
had other Uggs off this seller, around £85 plus shipping for classic short style and they are definitely real.
Be very careful buying from ebay, have been caught out with fakes before, just sent some back which were really similar, but definitely fake.

lou33 · 06/10/2008 13:26

i'm a 7 but wear a 6 in uggs
