Was planning on wearing this with a teal cardigan from Monsoon which has jewelly buttons. Need uber-bright shoes, tights, bag, fascinator, jewellery ideas to go with it.

It's an all day affair with no chance to change for the evening so need to (in the words of Carrie) merchandise it up so it's suitable for day and evening.

Wedding end of November.

I love that dress. What is Wallis sizing like??

mabanana · 01/10/2008 22:02

fascinators horrible IMO. Silly fancy dress for weddings.

harpomarx · 01/10/2008 22:22

it's not worth it, Salleroo. She won't do mustard yellow.

Thomcat · 02/10/2008 13:26

Yes we're trying to persuade her to do mustard yellow

what about purple? Its very 'Now"
Reiss has some great shoes and other accessories in purple

Dont have fancy frilly hoo- has in your hair either. Go for a bold look using the colours and keep accessories simple or perhaps just one statment bangle or necklace. Gold maybe?

Kristina - lol at washboard stomach as I ordered it in an 18 - I actually tried it on today in a 16 and it was a touch tight so I'm glad I ordered the 18. Very drapey and much more bias cut than the picture so very flattering (I will be wearing my spanx though)

Also it's actually a touch more green than blue, just a touch but enough for it to look fabulous with bright pink accessories.

so this is what I've gone for, the shoes are this:

the big corsage in the hair (note to cod, not a fascinator )

www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Large-Flower-Corsage/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=387291&clr=Turquoise&SearchQuer y=corsage&sh=0

and the pink cardigan (not ordered yet as I really want a brighter pink)but haven't found it yet

The brightest pink you can find or gold.

Megglevache · 02/10/2008 18:16

sorry didn';t read the posts and can see you already thought of that!

missblythe · 02/10/2008 18:18

I'd go for fishnet tights, in teal if you can get them, or nude if you can't.

Otherwise you will FREEZE!

Lauriefairycake · 02/10/2008 18:21

I want thick tights, it's the end of November in Leicestershire - it's gonna be parky.

I'm trying to decide it bright pink tights will be too much or whether I can balance it by adding something else in teal like a scarf.

I would wear thin natural tights but it would be lovely to wear thick if I could. Though would like to avoid the medical stocking look.

If you want to look really cool kooky wear the brightest pink tights (heavy denier) with pink shoes. You have to have super duper legs though. I would look like I was harbouring a couple of sausages from my dress if I tried it.

I really like your frock.

Lauriefairycake · 02/10/2008 18:59

Ah Megg, good point with the sausages - legs not the bestest as I'm chubby.

Hmmm......back to natural or fishnet. I'm now thinking the teal fishnet with a fake tan underneath - am Scots so when I tan I go white (from blue) - looks like I'll be wearing the Johnsons holiday skin under the fishnets

oh i am so pleased you sent for teh turquoise / cerise look. ya boo sucks to mustard

monsonn cardigan ok but a bit boring for £38 IMHO. i have one just like that from H&M which was a tenner [cheapskate emoticon]

i will watch with interets to see what teh fashionsitas advise on the tights dilemma. i think the bright pink might be Ok for partying but not quite sophisticated enough for a wedding

you will need holiday skin anyway for your arms. assuming you are a blue blooded scot

Megglevache · 02/10/2008 20:22

If it were me I'd add a corsage to the cardi not my hair/hat.

As you were.
