LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 12:17

need a pair of black boots for winter please. Day time chunkyish. Already have dressy heeled brown ones so want something more flat/ casual/ edgy

The bargain Faith ones that ggirl linked to have sold out.

so can anyone suggest any others?

not Jimmy Choo or Miu Miu thanks. Much as I'd like to! Under £100 would be grand. And I'm a size 42!

Pleeeeeease?

i have just bought some from La redoute (would do link but it wouldn't work, it never does!)

they were 70ish quid, but i had a 20% off thing and got them for 60ish.

bigspender30 · 24/09/2008 16:53

Asda do a cheaper version too. I want to see a picture of the GAP ones that everyone is raving about

anyfucker · 24/09/2008 17:13

I tried the Gap ones on yesterday. If you like your boots chunky, you may not like these as much. They are lighter and less rugged than eg. that Office biker boot.

I had a whole day yesterday trying on boots and finally settled on these

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 17:19

oh, which? it just goes to a generic page

tbh, my fave boots are these

or

[[http://www.shopstyle.co.uk/browse/womens-shoes/Miu-Miu the ones bottom row £540)

are the gap ones comparable?

bugger, do you mean my link LTEC? I thought I had put the actual link in. Try this link

cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-LADIES-BRONX-RENO-BROWN-LEATHER-BIKER-BOOTS-SIZE-3_W0QQitemZ170262431407QQcmdZVie wItem?hash=item170262431407&trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&trksid=p3911 .c0.m14

anyfucker · 24/09/2008 17:29

LTEC, the Gap boots are more like ankle boots, not at all like the Miu Miu ones (omg at the price!)

they are quite "thin" leather with a more flimsy heel and much more restrained buckles

they are nice if you like something a little more feminine or even a bit dressier

I will see if I can link them for you

one tick.....

anyfucker · 24/09/2008 17:33

shit, sorry, cant find em

< scratches head in a nonplussed manner >

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 18:15

yours are nice!

I think I am going to go for the Office ones. Can't be arsed to buy something if not available online! The thought of dragging the babies around the shops ..... ugh.

OP posts:
bigspender30 · 24/09/2008 18:19

brown or black Letthemeatcake?
Also, I wasn't sure what to wear with the biker boots as per previous thread. What will you wear yours with?

glitteryprincess · 24/09/2008 19:03

Got the office ones after seeing the thread on here, they are fab! I wear them with baby doll dresses and tights and skinny jeans and a leather bomber... love em.

kdk · 24/09/2008 19:05

If your feet are smallish - ie not bigger than 6.5 you could try these.

Yeah they are a bit wide like wellies lol but I have had loads of compliments on them and more importantly I'm happy with my boots.

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 19:50

hey bigspender

no pun

black - I have brown dressy boots
hpw abput you

think I will wear with minis and with shorts. Both with tights of course Will try em with skinny jeans too

hence ... quite tempted by "office boots like wellies" comment - would surely make my tree trunk legs look skinnier no?

lou33 · 24/09/2008 19:55

last winter i got some good ones from tesco for 40 quid, but i think i saw some in new look for 30 quid the other day

lou33 · 24/09/2008 19:56

yes, here

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 20:04

cod - did they make your pins look skinny?

OP posts:
anyfucker · 24/09/2008 20:08

are my links not working ????

they are working for me

the bronx and office ones are quite wide at the top (very similar these two) but I find they go much better when you tuck jeans in, even skinny jeans

I tried some gorgeous Fly London ones on but were quite tight on the leg and would only go with the skinniest of jeans. I don't want to not be able to wear my Miss Sixty straight legs !

I don't really wear mine with mini skirts-legs too long and skinny and stoopidly stork-like

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 20:11

oh my god, you have long skinny legs???

I have just decided that I like these better than the office ones

what do you think?
