need a pair of black boots for winter please. Day time chunkyish. Already have dressy heeled brown ones so want something more flat/ casual/ edgy

The bargain Faith ones that ggirl linked to have sold out.

so can anyone suggest any others?

not Jimmy Choo or Miu Miu thanks. Much as I'd like to! Under £100 would be grand. And I'm a size 42!

Pleeeeeease?

ltec, yes I have skinny legs and I hate them

not a good look really on a beanpole 40+ yr old

I mean skinny in a rubbish way, no muscle definition and knees like knots in cotton (as my old grandad used to say)

I like those Jones the Bootmaker ones

I have some black riding boots I got from there for my 40th a few yrs ago (megabucks, but I have worn them loads since then so very worth it)

CatMandu · 24/09/2008 20:15

New Look have a few variations at £30 - what's the catch? Not leather, but inexpensive.

anyfucker · 24/09/2008 20:17

oo I lurrrve boot chat

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 20:21

I have a pair of black suede boots that I bought 15 years ago - AU$200, so much money for me at the time (uni student)

still going strong ergo bargain.

quite like the new look ones though but not available in my size

so - will these boots make my legs look slimmer? what's the general consensus from you lot who have tried them in RL??

OP posts:
glitteryprincess · 24/09/2008 20:34

my money is on YES they would make your legs look slimmer.

anyfucker · 24/09/2008 21:00

yes!

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 21:32

hmm. Have just found passable and cheap versions at Evans.

Not to be rude but are their boots only for ladies with larger calves?

cos I have chunky thighs but slim calves

OP posts:
bigspender30 · 24/09/2008 22:15

I am the same-chunky thighs but slim from knee down. I love the link Letthemeatcake but I think they look a bit like cowboy boots and I don't know why!!!
No idea re Evans -I would imagine its for ladies with a "fuller leg"

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 22:20

spender - sorry love, which ones do you think look like cowboy boots?

My pic is on my profile if you have any advice about what might suit my legs. Bear in mind that I am wearing v.high heels in one so legs are falsely elongated...

bigspender30 · 24/09/2008 22:23

the jones ones. Just had a look at your profile. You are so pretty!
I think you would look good in anything!
PS where did you get married? looks somewhere hot!

bigspender30 · 24/09/2008 22:25

how about these very very low budget boots?

LetThemEatCake · 24/09/2008 22:28

oh thank you! we got married a few hours north of Sydney. I'm from Australia, been here a while though - dragged everyone down under for the wedding!!

those peacocks ones are good, but a bit short, I think?
