Not sure the ballet shoes will give you enough support for full day's tramping. And feet might swell, not good if trying on other footwear. How about Converse types?

Other than that, spot-on. Basically what I've been wearing to walk (for 20 mins) to school this week.

Don't underestimate how hot it is and do what I did today, traipse around town in wool dress, opaque tights, winter coat (like you say was cold in the morning) with othr shoppesrs wearing what can only be described as beach clothes.

Then get all hot and bothered and had to squander money invest in trousers, top and cardigan to change into. Then, after changing into new clothes in House of Fraser loos, get enticed into spending £30 on make up on the way out!

DON'T wear socks (if trying on dresses nothing more depressing/unflattering than seeing stumpy looking legs with socks on.

Don't take a coat, risk getting cold if the weather turns.
Cardi easier to carry around than coat.

Dare I suggest trainers or would I show myself up as being desperately unstylish?

Boots without socks sounds painful to me. Think of the blisters.

squeaver · 19/09/2008 18:04

Although, actually I was bloody boiling in my jeans at 3pm today.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2008 18:06

In bath today i had on jeans/long/cardi/light scarf/cami top underneath and boots!

boots too hot but rest fine so i'd think ballet shoes would be perfect.

why not wear a skirt so you can try on trousers without having to take it on and off?

i hate trying on clothes so much i avoid shopping like the plague.

I took my socks off for about 3 days in July

expatinscotland · 19/09/2008 18:35

i switched to non-wool socks for a couple of days in there.

MasterBatesLePew · 19/09/2008 18:35

I have my heating on

Cappuccino · 19/09/2008 18:35

oh and also a couple of days ago

got blisters in shoes I have been wearing for over 2 years

odd

you don't want blisters

wear socks

or those American tan footshaped things honestly no-one will notice

Cappuccino · 19/09/2008 18:36

cod lives in a weird warm place where they are still wearing shorts

it is like inverse Narnia

GetOrfMoiLand · 19/09/2008 18:36

Various characters walking around Cheltenham today in hot pants and crop tops (young girls with perfect legs and midfiffs)

It wasn't that bloody warm.
