I have a Peter Storm one - is ugly and looks like I should be off sailing but I never get wet!

DontCallMeBaby · 05/09/2008 15:09

Lots of varyingly mad coats which look either okay or bonkers depending on colour

Pruners, if that coat existed it'd be more like £200 than £100 if it was actually Goretex.

Any coffee and flapjacks going spare.

lulumama · 05/09/2008 15:10

you see, if is was prepared to compromise on style over substance...

Oh, and I don't think you'd want to exert yourself much in those PVC ones or you'd sweat to death. Imagine the condensation inside the seethrough ones! But black with white spots is rather nice.

lulumama · 05/09/2008 15:12

and a teeny bit fetishy too !! that;ll get them talking on the school run!

haven't read whole thread which is not on but i got my coat from Primark last year - knee lenght, hood, and a bit of detail

cost me £15

am sure they have this year's equivalent in stock

WilfSell · 05/09/2008 15:14

Pruners, don't know if Goretex but we liked this Northface one on the other thread

Says breathable waterproof technical fabric though, so close...

geekgirl · 05/09/2008 15:15

I have a Berghaus goretex jacket that goes halfway down my thighs and has a huge hood, bought from an outdoor shop.

Me too !

geekgirl · 05/09/2008 15:17

I think those pvc ones are nastily sweaty.

WilfSell · 05/09/2008 15:26

i've ordered the squall but if can afford a lighter coat next year will hope northface still sell that one in the taupe..

I posted on the other thread about the stadium squall, but as I already have a warm coat (their rather fab full lenght down coat) I thought I might go for this

www.tackandski.co.uk/prodpage.asp?ProdID=791

Purely because it's fairly cheap, long, waterproof & has a hood. It's just for school runs...pleas don't shout at me...

pushchair · 05/09/2008 19:47

Shortie I saw that long one but not sure if I can carry it off[or want to tbh]

norkmaiden · 05/09/2008 19:50

I'm currently fending off rain with this. It's not perfect but was picked up for a tenner when in dire need of mac this summer. On the lookout for its replacement though, eventually...

norkmaiden · 05/09/2008 19:51

quite liking the Muji one - quirky!!
