I need wellies that will fit comfortable around my <ahem> less than shapely calves

Look. My calves are by far my worst 'bit'.
I'm struggling to find a pair of wellies generous enough to be able to tuck my trousers in to.

I've even been looking at Crocs wellies .

What should I get?

And, on the subject of wellies, why the smeg do all cheap wellies have high heels?

My ds loves his crocs wellies but they are not fit for adults. Do you need to have waterproof calves or can you make do with duck shoes?

I want boots really, yes. For dog walking, puddle stomping, stream fording, mud sloshing etc.

lurking - becase I am fat of leg (and elsewhere!) and fancy some wellies for camping.

I wonder if expensive wellies are bigger? Anyone got Hunter wellies?

In what way are crocs wellies not fit for adults pigleto? My Sil has some I think.

I have the same problem myself. Its a shame as there are lovely ones around now. Not just green and functional.

The hunter ones look a bit snug to me. I am loathe to go to a garden centre and try them on - got caught out in Brantano once trying on some boots - shoe horned myself into them and then couldn't get them off again.

Not an exprience I hope to repeat.

I did have some mid calf ones that were OK - cheap from a garden centre. You do end up looking a bit like your granny in them though.

Shame Duo don't do calf fitted wellies!

I am about to purchase crocs wellies after trying on my friends pair the other day, and they will be my winter shoes , and I don't care what any one thinks.

Hunter have a wider calf range but they are still not wide enough for me. I have looked idiotic getting stuck halfway into/out of a welly in all the local garden centres and homebase now
I tend to wear jeans and walking boots instead..but would love some wellies.

it is the shape of the toes. very comfy but rather trotter like. They are great for winter as the foam material means they keep your feet warm. they are no good for fording streams though as they are not very high. Even deep puddles are challenging to the croc wellie.

I have the same problem, and have ended up with some mid-calf wellies from the garden centre - not the most stylish though, sadly. But do the job.

My dp has a very posh pair of wellies that come in different calf widths and have a zip to make them tighter - will go and have a look who they are made by!

Aigle are fantastic and heated inside with neoprene. Well worth the money as they are tough as old boots.

I have very chunky calves and a few weeks ago bought my first ever pair of comfy wellies from noa noa. They aren't particularly wide but they are shorter than usual so don't come up to the wide bit of my calves. I can't find them online. Sorry.

Crocs wellies are fantastic! Much more comfortable than regular wellies not just because of the nice cusioned soles, but you dont get such sweatty calves & feet since air can get in. Wear with leggings and a skirt and a confident anti-fashion air...

at how much it's possible to spend on some of these wellies! They are lovely though. Note to self: must rob bank.

Ladies, don't panic, I have the answer.
I am chunky of calf (44cm) , messy of walking and live in the countryside. I looked at Hunters and hated them - very narrow and sole is not really very chunky. I ordered these of the www and not only are they fab, they are half the price of wellies. Top one on the list on this link, also in blue, black and green I seem to remember.

Best wellies ever in my opinion,I love them! Not bad for £30, normal sizing, arrived two days after ordering.

Wide enough for my swimmers/cyclists/runners's calves , with tucking my jeans in and still not too tight!
