c'mon Cod, I think you are harbouring latent Brazilian waxing tendencies!

EelCod · 25/08/2008 15:52

no

MrsMattie · 25/08/2008 15:53

Hope you don't end up with stubbly, rashy fanjo on honeymoon!

oopsadaisyangel · 25/08/2008 16:07

Had that once when I decided to shave it all off didn't work out well but didn't put him off then either!!

Trust me after three weeks of not seeing each other at all I don't think there will be much that puts him off!!

Whenever I had a hollywood wax it only looked red for a few days & then was fine. They suggest online to leave 72 hours before having sex or going in the sun after having it done.

The first time I went the salon suggested trimming the hairs a bit before going as it would hurt less - can't remember how long they said so perhaps you could ring them to check.

Do they use hot wax? This is meant to hurt less.

Waxing is so much better than shaving IMO. I had a lot more itchiness with shaving & it still caused more ingrowing hairs.

I don't go anymore because for the price of one hollywood wax I got an epilator (was fed up of shaving my legs but not willing to let the hair grow long enough for waxing) & found that doing the top part of the bikini area was much less irritating than waxing & also cheaper in the long run.
Not brave enough to do the lower part though so DP will have to just put up with it as it is!

My waxing lady said that loads of people had brazilians and hollywoods.

Good luck & have a lovely wedding & honeymoon.

bumping for oopsadaisyangel. I want to know if you had the guts to get it done in the end.

blowsy · 26/08/2008 20:06

I had my 1st brazilian about 6 months ago and now am an evangelical convert!

No going back for me, I love 'em and so does dh. Where I go to get waxed, apparently just about everyone has them - they rarely do the 'old fashioned' style of waxing now.

In fact, I feel quite startled if I see a full bush in the changing rooms at the gym.

girlnextdoor · 26/08/2008 20:17

I just don't "get" Brazilians at all- why would I want to look like a child?

Surely after a day it is all prickly?

Years back, women used to be shaved when they had their DCS delivered- and then there was a change of heart and it was considered barbaric. How odd that you choose to do it now for fun!

As for my DH doing his bits- that's a joke! he is one mass of hair from his chest to his toes- so I think removing the pubes would look rather odd- and I like hairy men anyway.

oopsadaisyangel · 27/08/2008 12:41

Well ladies I did it - it hurt like hell but its done and I have to say i've very pleased!! think I'm a convert to the brazilian and can completely understand the feeling of being "cleaner"

Haven't any redness / blotchyness etc and the lady came me some teatree cream to put on for a couple of days just in case it did happen! The pain was gone by the time she had finished doing my leg wax and would definately recommend it! and again its nothing to do with looking like a child - its all about the feel!!!

Welcome to the other side! No going back now.

oopsadaisyangel · 27/08/2008 13:34

Certainly isn't - think the only person that will be complaining about it is my bank balance!!

OP posts:
blowsy · 27/08/2008 13:37

I know what you mean, costs me £53 a time, which is a bit wedgy.

oopsadaisyangel · 27/08/2008 13:41

Cost me £48 last night for brazilian, full leg and eyebrow - for some reason was too chicken to get underarms done as well just remember that being SO sore the last time I got it done! Might be braver next time and get that done as well!! Being dark haired its hell because I'm like a bloody ape if I don't keep it under control!!

BibiThree · 27/08/2008 13:42

Okay, so please explain "hurt like hell"
I would love to be hair free down there but cannot cope with hurt like hell.

Was it just a bit ouchy for a split second and where hurts the most?

blowsy · 27/08/2008 13:45

Mine is £48 too for full leg and braz, plus £5 tip.

I don't think it hurts a bit. Only find the heat of the hot wax a bit when it goes on your most inny bits!

oopsadaisyangel · 27/08/2008 13:52

When I say hurt like hell - it did only last for a split second - its just the initial sting and to be honest I think its the anticipation more than the actual pulling of the strip off!! Well worth it though!

The sorest bit for me was not at the front but more the bit in between if you know what I mean - that and the fact that I'm pregnant heightened the sting a bit seemingly!

OP posts:
girlnextdoor · 27/08/2008 21:14

I'm pleased you like it,but personally, I think yuk, yuk, yuk,- I don't even want to "feel" like a child again!

Here's me wondering if it will all fall out after meno- and people actually want it not to be there!

Takes all sorts.....

oopsadaisyangel · 29/08/2008 10:12

Its got nothing to do with wanting to feel like a child - its about wanting to feel clean and free of stray hairs when in my bikini!

I don't really see the difference between getting my legs / underarms waxed and getting a brazilian!

OP posts:
pooka · 29/08/2008 10:31

I also don't get the feeling clean bit.

When people talk about feeling clean of fanjo it always makes me think of those god awful sprays and powders and "intimate wipes" all designed to sanitise.

Not for me.
