Where can I find a duck egg blue coloured satin fish tailed skirt from?

Yes, I know, that's quite a few key words! It's just that a while back I bought a beautiful tulle top in that colour, heavily beaded but don't have anything to go on the bottom half except for sparkly jeans which doesn't do it justice and isn't appropriate if wearing it to a wedding.

Tried ebay and saw one or two possibilities. Any wise mners out there who could help me? Thanks.

In fact, it doesn't have to be fish tailed just satin and duck egg will do!

What kind of budget are you thinking? Perhaps a bridal shop? Even one who makes to measure?

JackieNo · 14/08/2008 22:37

Might it not be a bit difficult to match the colour? Would you consider maybe a brown skirt to go with it?

WilfSell · 14/08/2008 22:38

Monsoon maybe?

fishie · 14/08/2008 22:38

is satin neccessary? well never for me so perhaps you may wish to discount my opinion entirely.

but i do love duck egg blue. how about really nice (ie not poo colour) choc brown trousers?

boogiewoogie · 14/08/2008 22:39

Well, the top was £45 in a sale! So not much more than that.

Go a proper fabric shop. Find matching yummy fabric. Get dressmaker to make skirt to fit you perfectly.

LetThemEatCake · 14/08/2008 22:40

gosh yes, choc brown with duck egg blue. Don't try to be matchy matchy, it never wrks, esp in striking colours like that

boogiewoogie · 14/08/2008 22:42

Never thought about brown to o with it! You're right in thinking that it will be hard to match the colour. I've only ever worn it with the sparkly jeans for a meal.

Jackie has a point, you know

what's the top like? any other colours in it you could pick out?

(and satin on the bottom half is usu only a good idea if you are svelte and/or in possession of magic pants)

JackieNo · 14/08/2008 22:43

This skirt comes in various colours (not brown though, grr).

boogiewoogie · 14/08/2008 22:44

I think I will just have to get some fabric that either matches or complements it then ask my friendly dress maker to work her magic!

JackieNo · 14/08/2008 22:47

the disney store?

boogiewoogie · 14/08/2008 22:49

Badger, am petite so pencil type skirts suit me.

Top is from coast about 3 years ago. Tulle overall, underneath is a plain blue camisole. Tulle top is heavily beaded with icy blue jewels. Very ethereal looking.

I would say steer clear of trying to match because its likely unless you get it from the same store it will be impossible! have you thought of a gold or cream skirt This ones nice

zippitippitoes · 14/08/2008 22:55

i thought disney too
are you insane

hf128219 · 14/08/2008 22:56

Duck egg blue - nice for a bedroom
Satin - bridesmaids only
Fishtail - the Aquarium

Please don't do it!!!

£45? What is the occasion?

JackieNo · 14/08/2008 22:56

Bit of a bargain.

Actually - how about velvet, for a bit more of a contrast in texture?
