Are cropped trousers for short people really a no no

Yes I have watched Trinny and Susanna and Gok and I know the rules. However I still have cropped trousers as part of my wardrobe and do wear them with heels and also with flat sandals.

However my new gay friend who is a lovely guy said to me this week when I was wearing ankle length trousers (which I actually don't like tbh) I do like bootflares though
ooh citylover those trousers are so much better for you than crops.

I appreciated his honesty but since then keep wondering whether I look truly terrible in crops. I don't really care when I am out and about around this area but I wore them for work during the week (grey monsoon slub mterial type crops) with a red shirt and sandals with about 2.5 in heels and thought i look OK. Have got quite big but shapely calves (no cankles here girls). LOL

Views appreciated esp from similar vertically challenged crop wearers.

Can only spaek for myself. I am 5' and look hideous in cropped trousers.

OOh dear maybe I had better have a rethink of my wardrobe. But wouldn't the same logic apply to skirts - ie they cut your legs in half too

I dont wear skirts either, its so frustrating- but even petite skirts make me look smaller. I always wear trousers

I don't care I'm 5'1 and love my crops....usually wear with flats or kitten heels.

Being short, I find that crops are the answer to many prayers re: fashion as I really struggle to find a good pair of trousers that fit me properly. Sometimes, even the petite ranges are too long for me LOL

I'm 4'9" and wear crops all the time - I can't buy 'normal' trousers, and even hemming them makes them hang badly. I think I look OK in them ... I could be wrong, of course!

i went to a meeting once in them and the client called me 'lieutenant uhuru' - not the look i was going for!

stand in front of the mirror and put on crops and then full lenght trousers and decide which look best or if both look ok

Cropped trousers make petite women look smaller AND wider. Sorry, but they just aren't the best option for your size. I'd love to wear platforms cause I think they look fab on small women but I'm tall and they look wrong on me.

I see someone wearing 3/4 length trousers most days and I ask myself, Why? IMO they do nothing for her.

My old boss used to wear 3/4 lengths with navy court shoes. Not a good look IMO.

Yes, yes they are unless you are ultra-skinny.

I'm not fat, but I'm not size 4, either, and at 5ft., 3in. they're not a good look for me.

Thankfully, I have a tall, skinny daughter with mile-long giraffe legs. I indulge my cropped trouser, smock top/leggings fantasies on her.

So, what do short fat people wear in hot weather?

Do we just stay inside until it rains and we can wear nice bootcut trousers and cardigans again?

i am not fat, but i am short.

in summer i wear a lot of skirts and long shorts or light trousers made from linen or cotton.

Let me assure you that when it comes to shortened trousers and my legs, crops are definitely a lesser evil versus shorts

I'm 5ft and I only wear croppped trousers when I'm doing sports. I'm not fat but I do have short, chunky legs and they just look terrible! If I'm on a bike I don't care though

My best friend is short (not much over 5ft I don't think) and she wears cropped jeans and looks fab in them.

She has nice legs though, nice ankles (as opposed to cankles).

i love crops, but they have to be petite size and fit really well. but although im 5'2" i have longish legs and slim calves

Think it depends how long your actual legs are. I'm 5ft2 but have to wear long trews because I am short in trunk and long in leg, I wouldn't do cropped trousers though (don't like them) although I look quite fetching in capri pants.

I am 5ft tall agin not fat not skinny and I look bloody awful in crops . I have short legs and becuase they stop in the wrong place they shorten my legs. I find knee length crops/shorts MUCH more flattering and in summer would wear them with a vest and flip flops. I work in a VERY hot environment so I understand the hot thing.

i might add I hate it even more when crops are worn with kitten heels, especially if you have small feet. it creates a triangle !!

It's probably worth pointing out that 'cropped' trousers in my case end up just above my ankles. On a taller person they would probably be mid-calf, but I'm such a short-arse

I wear cropped trousers and I'm only 5'1. I probably look like an Oompa Loompa but my legs are too horrid to wear shorts (terrible thread veins) and full length jeans and trousers are sometimes just too bloody hot!

I thought I looked OK in them, but I shall be suitably paranoid now that I look an arse in my crops

as long as wearing heeled/high shoes you can get away with them.
