I know. I am pulling her leg really.

She will look lovely.

Umlellala · 30/07/2008 16:39

Must be a Hackney thing, Hoxtonchick cos I really like everything that has been linked to* (including the paisley men's shirts... don't think I would convince dh though). Might be ordering your dress - £15 bargain!

My prob is it makes me wail 'but I could MAKE that myself' - well, maybe, if I didn't have a toddler and a newborn. Oh, and if I could actually sew.

*obviously this excludes the weirdo sailor outfit cod linked to. NO-ONE could like that, surely.

hoxtonchick · 30/07/2008 18:34

cool, can i have strops like a proper 4 year old??

go for it umlellala. the most stylish people live in hackney (i got a great dress in broadway market a couple of weeks ago too ).

I heart Tulip and nettle!

Hey hc - I have been umming and arrring over that dress for my sister's wedding.

Can I ask you to look at yourself in the mirror and do a twirl then ask yourself this..."Is it a bit bridesmaidy???" You see... My daughter is a bridesmaid so I will be hanging with the bridesmaids a lot and I don't want to look like a wannabe bridesmaid. I want to look like cool, together, successful and chic older (or perhaps younger as I will be looking so gooood) sister. What do you think? Should I buy one too or not (obviously I wouldn't buy it in black)?

hoxtonchick · 30/07/2008 19:28

i'm not sure the material is weddingy enough teafor2, it's just stiffish cotton. also not sure it comes in any other colour than black. but would be lovely in silk i think.

I'm just wondering about sizing. I am just slightly bigger than a 10 (I squeeze in ok though).

Should I go for a 1 or 2?

Don't you have to be posing wistfully by a sunny distressed window sill to get the full effect?

maidamess · 30/07/2008 20:07

That red ones creepy

twinsetandpearls · 30/07/2008 20:08

I long for the days when dd used to wear dresses from tulip and nettle.

shreddies · 30/07/2008 20:09

Lol, was lurking on this from work. Love your dress hoxty and that denim bell sleeve number.

belcantavinissima · 30/07/2008 20:10

i like that red one but my boobs are too big and would no way ever ever fit in a size 1
