If you were going to invest in some BENEFIT tackle, what would you go for?

I have a Benefit itch that needs to be scratched (maybe a couple of times), but can't decide. I have a fair complexion.

Dandelion face powder
Lip plump - if you use lippy
Any of the mini kits are a great way of trying out various products.
Lemonaid - if you wear eyeshadow

fishie · 20/07/2008 20:37

eye bright is good but otherwise go to mac. oh i like she laq too.

chenin · 20/07/2008 21:11

Hollywood Glo is fab. It is a liquid finishing touch facial glow. It is meant to make old trouts like me look young and glowing!

I did treat myself to Dr. Feelgood. Has anyone got it? I haven't got a clue what its supposed to do.. it just looks like a tin of colourless boot polish....!

littlelamb · 20/07/2008 22:32

Helliebean, it is meant to give a matt finish to your skin, so it gets rid of any shinyness. I only use it occasionally, mostly in the evening to be honest, as it seems to make my other make up last a bit longer, and I just put it on over the top of my foundation. A tin will last forever. I had the opportunity to work for BeneFit 2 years ago and have often thought wistfully of the amazing products I would have got out of it [wistful emoticon]

Snaf · 20/07/2008 22:34

Oooh yes, Hollywood Glow is lovely.

Littlelamb - I remember your thread about that job! Did it not happen, then?

ZacharyQuack · 20/07/2008 22:39

Erase Paste or Boing are great concealers.
I love their creme eyeshadows, especially Birthday Suit and Skinny Jeans
Some Kinda Gorgeous or You Rebel for light foundation
Their blushers in a box are lovely.

The Realness of Concealness and Justine Case are both little kits with about 5 product each, a good way to try things and great for travel.

Bad Gal mascara is BAD, avoid. Messy flakey stuff.

I've got Dr Feelgood but have never really seen the point.

I love Benefit, but can't buy it here

littlelamb · 20/07/2008 22:40

No, I got offered [what I thought was] a better job before that one was seen through. All turned out well though as I ended up with a truly great job when they had messed me around The thing that put me off was the boredom aspect tbh, and the fact that it was soooo performance based. None of our Benefit counters in town now have any sales people on them which I think says a lot- they seemed to be quite a tough company to work for.

Snaf · 20/07/2008 22:40

Sorry, LL - have just read my last post back and it sounded a bit nosey!

Snaf · 20/07/2008 22:41

and an x-post!

Glad it all worked out well in the end

ingles2 · 20/07/2008 22:49

I love that Bathina shaving cream...
Has anyone tried posie tint?
or their perfumes?

MrsJohnCusack · 20/07/2008 23:21

zacahry are you in NZ? (can't remember). There's a couple of people selling Benefit stuff new on Trade me now

anyway, yes some of it is pointless and I wouldn't botheerwith it for lipstick/mascara and stuff, but these I can't do without:

Get even presssed powder
Benetint (am going to try the new POseytint as well)
eye bright pencil
dandelion powder

and the babe cake eye liner stuff is good too

no idea about the Dr Feelgood stuff. my sister swears by it but I just can't see the point for me

mavornia · 20/07/2008 23:56

can i jump in and ask how to use eye bright pencil? I got it for my birthday but not sure what to do with it and not near any Benefit counters at the moment to ask

love Dandelion btw, perfect blusher

MrsJohnCusack · 21/07/2008 00:46

well they say just put a bit on the inside & outside corners of your eye and blend

but I don't know whether they mean on the top and the bottom or just the top

i tend to put a line along the whole top lid and then blend very well - gets rid of all the dull, knackered look and brightens my eyes in the quickest way possible. a little bit blended underneath the very outer corner helps too. it lasts for AGES and I do think you need to blend a lot or it looks a bit strange

oh i also have the ooh la la lift stuff that goes under your eyes - can you tell it's my eyes that need the most attention in the quickest amount of time?

S1ur · 21/07/2008 00:54

high beam.

rest depends on skin type a lot. lots are nice if you have good skin otherwise quite oily.

I like high beam and cream eyeshadows and dandelion. bit meh about lip stuff.

suzywong · 21/07/2008 01:16

oh I love Benefit even more now that the Head Girl has poo-pooed it! Does it not suit you Cod?

Some kind of gorgeous
Dandelion
Bad Gal Lash
eyebrow kit

get it direct off the US website and save some money

S1ur · 21/07/2008 01:20

Coddy thinks its teen

S1ur · 21/07/2008 01:23

some kinda a gorgeous (on me) feels lovely and silky soft, and light. But noit as long lasting as estee laude if you need that. I use tinted moisturiser or other or estee if need really long.

but yep, dandelion
high beam

go for consultancy. Find local concession place , john lewis? debenhams? blah?

suzywong · 21/07/2008 01:23

oh how delightful!
she is showing her age

MrsJohnCusack · 21/07/2008 01:51

some kinda gorgeous is good BUT the lightest shade is too dark on me really so only any good in the summer (when I go very so very slightly less undead looking darker)

am going to try the Erase paster
and yes get from the US website - that's what us deprived NZers have to do, although the Trade Me ladies are saving me now

I'v ebeen eyeing the Mac counter in town but I can't be arsed

ZacharyQuack · 21/07/2008 06:52

Hi MrsJC, yes I'm in NZ. I've seen the TradeMe dealers and have been tempted, but there are a few too many Trademe bank transfers on our account lately!

MrsJohnCusack · 21/07/2008 09:32

i know the problem.....

2loudboys · 21/07/2008 13:08

I couldn't live without Erase Paste soooooooo much better than Touche Eclat. Also love You Rebel tinted moisturizer & Eyebright. Try using Eyebright to draw a line immediately under your outer brow line & blend with finger - wakes up your eyes & makes your brows look great.

Their lipgloss called Rave Review suits everybody & Hula is a great bronzer with no sparkly bits (yuk).

JRocks · 21/07/2008 13:13

I have got a huge amount of use out of the Big Beautiful Eyes kit, and am also currently loving Posie Tint

Erase paste, Ten, Boi-ing, Some kind gorgeous and benetint also in heavy use here

I think I may have an addiction, I've hordes more than that...
