I like a lot of this designer's work. I like the current fashion for sheers/transparency & layering with opaques.

Capri pants, however, are one of those rare items of clothing that only look good on petite women - think Audrey Hepburn or Brigitte Bardot. On tall skinny models they look ridiculous & imbalanced. Making them transparent does not enhance these ones in any way.

Pairing capri pants with kitten heels, an oversized blazer or a trench is what every would-be fashionista has been doing. They're everywhere online. Everything seems to be called capri pants, even when they're actually cropped cargo pants or pedal pushers. It's fine to dislike them, even if you are remotely fashionable, surely?

One thing I'm absolutely certain of, though, is that the crotch area on a pair of (tight jersey stretchy) capri pants, is a very very unpleasant thing ...

Kitten heels, tick. Oversized blazer, tick. Trench coat, tick.

No doubt they look great on someone who looks like they're deliberate.

On me it would surely look like I put tights on but forgot to put my skirt over the top.

Same issue with one-sleeved tops. Look amazing on many; on me looks like my nan ran out of fabric whilst running up a top for me.

Of all the celebrities I’ve seen wearing semi-sheer trousers like this, there isn’t a single one who I think looks good.

It’s unflattering if you’re curvy but if you’re slim, the pants make it look like a nappy.

A trend that can unite all body shapes in making everyone look shit.

Plus it reeks of being a try-hard. Fashion should look effortless whether it’s glam or grunge. This looks like you’re trying too hard for attention “look at my pants. LOOK AT THEM!!!”
