What am I missing from my autumn winter wardrobe?

Other than an umbrella!! I’ve done a big autumn stock up today because I had nothing!!

I’ve got:

3 pairs of trousers

3 jeans

5 wool jumpers

lots of tops, some long sleeve some short sleeve

2 coats - a trench coat and a long wool coat

a raincoat

2 pairs of ankle boots

1 skirt

what am I missing?!

Trainers? I’d need some sort of comfy shoes that weren’t boots. I quite like a shirt this time of year too.

Oh I have those but I don’t really count them as seasonal as I wear them so frequently 😂

A couple of skirts , tweedy and cord to go with the jumpers to dress up a bit ?

I’m genuinely curious. Have you thrown out all the clothes you wore last autumn, OP? I’ve never been able to keep up with trends and I’ve suddenly twigged, reading posts like yours, that perhaps some people do actually replace everything each year rather than just getting bits and pieces. Cos that would explain eg why I buy a new jumper it doesn’t fit with my old coats because they’re all different shapes and silhouettes. It’s so frustrating that half the time I just give up and wear my old stuff.

If so, is it not awfully expensive to buy new all the time?

I’ve lost a lot of weight and don’t really own much that fits me now!

I’m also going to make either a pair of brown satin trousers, or use the fabric to make a skirt. Undecided now

A couple of nice chunky cardigans

I like a nice thick denim shirt in the autumn/winter. Can be worn on its own if it is mild or with a polo neck underneath if cooler.

Agree, but mine would be thick flannel. A lumberjack shirt is really useful

I take it you’re not a dress person ? I don’t wear them much but I have a couple bought this summer I might layer with slouchy / chunky cardigans.

I love a dress in summer but in winter I struggle to style them. I feel like with a cardigan they age me and I never know what shoes to wear with them

dresses can b fine for fall! just add pointy toes boots n a long coat

or wear it under a jumper like a skirt

or heels w nylons if it's not so blustery

if ur wearing it casually, hv fun w a more modern cardi n a paired back dress
