Bought this dress for a New Year’s party.
What footwear would look good with this dress?

No sandals or high heels

It is literally Style and Beauty

i don’t go on the Litter Tray as I don’t have a cat

That's not it.
There's a lot of nit picking and pedantry on MN, it's particularly marked though on style threads.

The recommendation for a pair of bog-standard shiny black stilettoes had its finger way off the style pulse - and off OP's specific request 'no high heels'.

They have their place. In Corporate America.

To illustrate @Sulgari, this is the type of catty comment I mean (we had to wait all of 10 seconds for an example).

I could show you pages of midi fitted dresses with heels @GarlicSomething in Vogue and such like, if I could be arsed.

It was a riposte to your multiple catty comments.

It's mystifying that so very many people like to go on message boards to tell everyone their interest in the topic is pointless and wrong. But you get people at Michelin-starred restaurants droning on about a £10 chippie tea being just as good, so I guess it's one of the mildly interesting and intensely irritating quirks of human behaviour.

I haven't told anyone they were wrong. Nor have I made one, never mind multiple, catty comments. I fessed up that I didn't like the dress after several (personal, not aimed at clothing, aimed at me) pedantic admonishes that the dress wasn't remotely worthy of.
Anyway, done barbing with some random about a 15 quid dress 😂

It's not for a casual autumn lunch date, its for a new year party.

There's always women on these threads ripping the arse out of it, trying to prove how much of a fashionista they are (linking Vogue to prove it 😂). The dress is awful. It's a 15 quid dress in a dreadful colour, I was actually just politely suggesting ways of making it look less awful!

This seems pretty catty to me @JasmineMac

Wedding shoes

my dd needs help for her wedding shoes. She’s wearing a quite plain wedding dress, but wants spectacular shoes that are not high, comfortable, eye catching, unusual and preferably with some sparkle. Her dress was much cheaper than she expected, so she wants to splurge with the shoes. Any ideas?
