Has anyone found M&S clothing sizing smaller than usual lately?

Visited a really large M&S - the whole range in store and lots of available sizes.
I has always found them to be a generous sizing and have sized down.

I’ve recently lost about a stone, but yet today everything was cut so small. There are some beautiful pieces, silky brown dress and blue mini skirt that are part of their current advertising. But they are cut so slinky, tight waistbands etc
anyone else experienced this?

I'm glad to read this thread because I was disheartened recently when I bought a pair of jeans in my usual 10 and they were a struggle to do up. I'm a 10 everywhere else! Going by the size chart I'm a 12, so I will have to keep that in mind next time.

@cityliving99 but most of my other brand jeans and trousers are a size 10, I don't mind going up a size, but the 12 may just fit the waist a little loose, but hips and bum a too big, I like Marks because I could get the length measurements ( short) but they have changed them as well.

I can understand they have dropped the vanity sizing, that makes sense.

However, the weird trouser lengths are so annoying. I am five foot 4 so standard length used to be fine for me but now it’s about three inches too long. And of course a short is an inch too short 😡

Used to be for 27", which meant they actually fitted. I could sort of make do with a 29", but seeing as the last purchases I attempted to make resulted in trousers that actually had inside legs of 32, 33.5 and for one, 35.9. And the 7/8s that fitted perfectly as full length are now either too long or too short as their concept of fractions is somewhat tenuous. Can't wear the extra short in any case if there's ever any in stock as the rise and seat is all wrong.

I gave up and found that ordering from random Amazon suppliers has a far higher success rate - especially as many of those will also give the garment measurements (rather than expect buyers to take it on trust that they're not keeping it secret in the hope that you'll give up and not return things).

You can get hemming web cheap off Amazon. You don’t even have to learn how to sew, you just turn up the hems and press.

Yeah, the sizes were huge before. This is just getting back to normal now and in line with the rest of the high street.

Yes I've found that and I lost two stone recently. Definitely still need a 12 in trousers in M&S, in other places no more than a 10.

I usually buy a large in the pajamas but they seem to have got huge

Yes in trousers I'm now a 14, I'm a 12 most other places (previously in m&s jeans I'd usually be a 12, occasional 10).

based on recent size 14 trousers, i ordered a jumper in Medium recently and was absolutely massive. Puts me off ordering stuff.

I was there today and my usual size didn't fit. I tried the next one up and that was still too tight. Decided to call it a day before I cried. Assumed I'd got fat, but then came home and tried on my old clothes (I was trying to buy new work stuff) and they fit! So bizarre.

would everyone stop moaning about fitting into different sizes in different shops.
M&S sizes are now accurate.
A size 10 today would have been a 14 in the 60s.
M&S were known for being oversized - now they are correcting that.
So what if you need to size up? It’s not a big deal.

I guess we are all different shapes.
I went in today and tried on some wide leg trousers. I needed to downsize as my waist is my smallest part.

Some years ago, when we wore more formal stuff to work, I bought a jacket from M&S and three skirts to go with it. Exactly the same skirt in three different colours all the same size. One fitted perfectly, one was a bit tight and the other one loose.

I'm not complaining about them correcting them, just agreeing with the OP that they are definitely smaller than they were. But also measurements applying in other shops differ. My measurements put me between a 10 and a 12 in different shops.
